Thanks for posting the VIN as without it, it could be a later year A body with 70 front and rear clips. The instrument cluster is from a 72+ and the steering wheel is from 73+.

More likely in the first 30 years of the cars life it was swapped. With a scheduled production date of June 4, 1971, it is a later build ‘71 MY Dart. All those ‘70 parts left along the assembly line would have been bolted on early in the ‘71 MY (August/Sept 1970) Darts. Even then, considering...

Does the car still have the fender tag? If so, that would confirm the car only ever came with a 904 transmission. Only the 340 and 360 Dusters had a 727. All slant 6 and 318 Dusters had a 904.

What provenance does the car have?

How long have you owned the Duster for? And where is the A11 code on the tag?? By ‘73 there was the seat belt warning light so something isn’t adding up.

Nice Duster, and a real 360 at that! What’s the story behind the instrument cluster being swapped out? By 1974 there was one warning (fasten seat belt) light between the headlight switch and speedometer. That’s a 1970 or 1971 cluster. I think it was mid ‘72 the fasten seat belt light was added.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a fender tag with so few options!

If I were interested in spending more than $10k on a car, I’d want to see a bunch of pictures. If I was spending ore than $20k, then even more pictures. Each $10k the need for more pictures and less cheese in the ad is required.

That early VIN means it was built in August ‘70 as the 669th car off the assembly line in that plant. The fender tag, if it still has one, would provide more info if it was a dealer promo car.

The passenger side rear quarter panel and roof appear to be a darker blue than the passenger door and front fender? Was that part resprayed and why?

Marker lights were shaved? Given how bright it is in the photos, it’s tough to see (due to shadows) but is the tail panel the same color as the engine bay?
