    ANYONE RECOGNIZE THESE?

Definitely not a 74 or 75 radiator as those years start with 3692xyz and 3781xyz respectively across the entire lineup.

    Billet Specialties Thermostat Housing?

I scuffed up/sanded the Billet housing and shot it with some blue paint before installing just so it doesn’t stand out as much.

    68 Coronet inspect.

Yeah I’d stay well away from Canadian Tire. If you’re not sure, why not install the rear defroster, have it inspected and then install the second speaker. That way there will be no worries about it passing on that item. Or if you want to install the rear speaker before the inspection, why not...

    What’s up with R134 prices?

Yeah! I was going to hop across the border to pick up a few cans at Autozone or O’Reilly’s but WA banned the sale of it about 18 months ago. Driving down to Oregon is a little far.

    What’s up with R134 prices?

As someone else said, r134a refrigerant started to be phased out about 10 years ago. Starting in 2021, any new vehicle sold in North America had to have r1234 instead of r134a.

    1973 Radiator fitment

I’ll be interested in the responses too. The answer to your first question should be yes. By 73 there were three radiator sizes (19, 22 and 26) but by 74 the only radiator sizes in an A body were 19 or 26 inch. The 19 inch rads just have a little extra flange material to fit in the 24inch...

Radiator Support To Grille Heat Shields

Just make sure you got it fastened securely along the leading and trailing edges. Ram air is pretty strong and if there’s only a couple of bolts holding the plastic down, it will ballon and eventually rip or balloon enough the air will find another escape route than through the rad.

Radiator hoses for 73 Dart Sport 340

I’ll be interested to know if the lower rad hose came with a spring (anti collapse) inside it?

    73 Dodge Dart heat control

Trying to understand the thought process of someone else could drive you crazy. And even if you do figure out why they did that, it might be for the completely wrong reasons! Perhaps he read about that setup off Wikipedia? You mention you’re already needing to rewire the car, looks like you’re...

    73 Dodge Dart heat control

Woah, that looks like a dogs breakfast! Double hose clamps on each end? Definitely not stock. That’s a Frankenstein setup! Those hoses should run uninterrupted from the firewall to the front of the engine block.

    Radiator Replacement Options

Have you stopped by a Napa or, even worse, a Canadian Tire? Anything on Craigslist or kijij? If not, then eBay might be your best bet unless you want to have a non-running car?

    Radiator sizes

26” radiators were available in the A bodies starting in 1973. By 1974 the only options were a 19” or a 26” radiator in the A bodies.

How do modern cars regulate temperature so well?

Woah. I hope the speedometers are accurate too??? I think you might be thinking throttle (or drive) by wire is some sort of witchcraft compared to the traditional throttle cables that had a physical linkage between the gas pedal and carb or throttle body? Rest assured, throttle or drive by...

How do modern cars regulate temperature so well?

As others said, until the import manufactures brought their well engineered cars over, all the public knew were the basic engineered cars the big 3 were pumping out. If you’ve only had ground beef (big 3 cars in the last century) that’s tastes pretty good. However if you’ve also had beef...

    new 26" copper radiators

Thanks for posting this info. I’m also curious how it how it fits although as others has said it will require drilling to fit on your 22” opening. Do you plan on running a shroud with the rad and is it a stock 26” shroud? Unless one needs a copper rad with a Chrysler part number, this might be...

    1971 Scamp 26" Radiator

It’s a ‘71 with a schedule build date of November 24 1970. That’s a full 20 months before they started producing the ‘73 A bodies. I could see it having a 26” rad if it was a ‘72 MY with a build date of early/mid summer of ‘72. Interesting for sure.

    1971 Scamp 26" Radiator

The very top row of the fender tag would list “26” if it had a 26” rad. What proves on the fender tag in the picture it has a 26” radiator? As others have said, if it has the heavy duty cooling package then it would be a 3 core 22” rad pre 1973. If your ‘71 Scamp does have a 26” rad now then...

    Radiators in an A-body?

One of our members has installed a 26” radiator in an A body with a 22” rad support opening and provided some feedback/tips: Radiator choices 26" or 22" Will require some drilling but it will work.

    1973 Dart Swinger cooling

That’s a clean Dart and nice colour combo! I’ve got a similar set up to you (318 w 19” rad) with the original shroud. I’ve got the MP thermostatic clutch fan and also upgraded to a 4bbl. In hot weather (which isn’t super hot here in Vancouver) it runs at the 12 o’clock position on the...

    1973 Dart Swinger cooling

Despite what some folks are indicating the 19” rad in your car is what it came with from the factory. If your 318 had AC or was ordered with the heavy duty cooling option, it would have had a 22” rad. Also in 1973 the A bodies were available with a 26” rad for the first time. Prior to that...

Radiator Hose Springs - Yes or No ?

I got the same line from the guy behind the parts counter... advancements in rubber hoses has come a long way so no spring needed. I installed it without the spring but kept it on the shelf just in case. Noticed the temperature gauge would climb at highway speeds so installed the spring and it...
