    For the W5 lovers

Yes. I still have a set on one of my cars. But I never understood why they called them "econo". Nothing about them are econo because you still need the expensive rocker set up. They do have two sets of bolt holes for the exhaust but the manifold ports are a terrible mismatch so you need...

I thought all of the W5 heads had the rocker stands milled off. I've only had one set and they were but I did buy them used.

    2001 5.9 Magnum questions

My Dakota is a 1997. Had a tired 3.9 with 226000 on the clock. That 3.9 was a turd. Super clean truck no rust anywhere at all. Inside is perfect. I did the V8 swap and love it. Completely different truck now. That 5.9 is a great engine.

    2001 5.9 Magnum questions

I just rebuilt one and put it in my Dakota. It was out of a 2001 as well. Bottom end looked great. Did not have to bore it. Cleaned up and reused the same pistons and rings. Put in new rod and main bearings just because I was there. Cam and cam bearings were wiped and both heads were cracked. I...

Speed Pro H116CP pistons drop in with no rebalance?

I have built at least four 360 engines using those pistons. No rebalancing is needed. I went as far as having my machine shop check them out and he told me that they are the same weight as the stock pistons. He told me what they did was move some of the material from the skirt to the top of the...

    3.9 L Cam/Timing chain noise @42K mi. Normal?

If it's a nice truck I'd swap a 5.2 or 5.9 magnum into it. It's the easiest engine swap in the world.

    3.9 L Cam/Timing chain noise @42K mi. Normal?

I think I have replaced every 3.9 timing chain in north east Ohio in my 36 plus year at a Chrysler dealership. If it's a 3.9 with even 12 thousand miles it will be noisy. Those thing are like a paint shaker.

    1971 La318 Starter issue?

Parts are all over ebay but you'll have more money in it than you get the newer style for. If you just have to have the old style then go for it. They are not hard to rebuild.
