I thought what I purchased was the red for the door tops and such, not the dash. Of course a 62 Lancer did not have a flat dash like the 67 up A Bodies, so maybe that was my mistake. The color chip looks gloss to me. And yes it was flat like a flat dash.

I got some herb's red for my Lancer. Garbage. Cost a lot and was flat as hell. I got some duplicolor red and it turned out well. Expensive lesson.

Maybe it was a 3 and he swapped to a 4 speed.

To answer your question, not far enough! You should have 3 holes in your seat mount brackets. You can remove the studs and move them forward to give you more travel backward.

I have one for my wagon, but it looks real weak, I think I will have my fabric guy cover a piece of aluminum with the red I have left and just live with dead sound. I have seen guys put gauges in there also. Here is a cool one.

I have to repair all the interior door panels on my Lancer. Anyone have a source for the hard backer board? I want to make mine, replace the whiskers, before I take them to the upholsterer.

Do you have an A Body glass dash? If it is a race weight part you might want to reinforce it on the back side with fiberglass structure.

I have had good luck using a drill bit, just a little smaller to drive a drift pin out. Sometime the bit gets dull from beating but they work good. Use the drill end and tap on the point.

When I rebuild car models I use Castrol Super Clean. It removes paint and chrome. Try it on a test piece first, but it should do the job. Cleans off with water. I would worry about getting the brake fluid cleaned off.
