Autotronics, the old MSD company, used to test the boxes for the cost of shipping.
If a box has an intermittent issue, just bench testing won't show that issue.
Now that Hoeely owns the company, I don't know what they would do.
60 and 61 Valiants, and 61 Lancers used individual fuses on certain circuits. Buried in the wiring harness. Vert poor design, rectified in the 62 Models with a fuse box.

Just make sure the pump isn't running when you remove the ground connection. General practice is switch hot wire not ground. You can get large arcs when a ground goes away under power.
I think I figured out this fine china pos is TU. It makes spark at the coil with out any distributor input, a constant arc. I used two different coils. If anyone has had this issue, I would like to hear about their results.
You have to get those hot enough to melt the solder and some wire jackets are not high temp. You need to be careful. I use Raychem environmential splices, you need a tool, but they are aviation grade and weather proof. Many different sizes.

Had a locksmith out to the house to remove the locking gas cap and he had no idea of the right key for the others. I have a glove box and tailgate key thank goodness!
