    273 to 383 Formula S Barracuda

It's always your choice, but you see very few 273 cars, seems the 383 cars are fairly common. I am biased, I would build the 273. Then AC and PS are a breeze!

    Degreeing a Cam Shaft

Hey, not to get in the middle of the mud slinging but I have a question. When do you read the peak on a ramp? By that I mean, right when it reaches the peak, when it's at the peak or right when the indicator starts back down. On my experience there seems to be a few degrees when the lifter hits...

Is the 383 a better engine, or does the 440 just have more displacement?

It does mean anything for this conversation, but when the NHRA was using different weights for different CU combinations in Pro Stock, many Hemi racers used 383 engines with HEMI heads. This way they could have smaller engines, lighter car weight and these cars FLEW!

    Factory 383 with ps

The factory did it for a reason. This is a 67 GTS and power steering was never offered, but maybe planned?

    b motor into a body

Later model 440 engines use a water pump housing with flipped outlet side. So you can use another housing to match rad locations.

    440 m code block

Like they said, if you have a partial match, the last numbers I would say you have the correct engine. I think New Yorkers used that front mount.

1967 Dart GTS Parts Book Info

The Picture pages (23-182 184) says Jan 68, supersedes Jan 67. The Part Number pages (23-183 185) says Jan 68, supersedes May 67. Ok so these are later additions to the parts books and they updated with the 383 emblems. But they omitted the GTS emblems references.

1967 Dart GTS Parts Book Info

Understood. But why is a 383 emblem listed in a parts breakdown for a 67 Dart GT?

1967 Dart GTS Parts Book Info

I was looking in my 67 Parts book today and found this. I think it's very interesting based on what we think we know about 67 Big Block Darts. So as you can see in the following pictures, first one is the Hardtop second is the Convertible. REF 2 Lists a 383 4 Barrel Emblem. Below there is a...

    Motor plate thought?

Just a thought, what about a solid drivers side mount and everything else new rubber mounts. Fore and Aft mount strap and be done with it. I would really think that would take care of movement and still have so vibration isolation.

    67-69 Chrome Valve Covers

Well don't have the car any more, but I do have a 67 Magnum motor from a 67 Coronet RT. I have had a few sets over the years, but somehow I ended up with the worst looking set.

    67-69 Chrome Valve Covers

I agree, they do look nice! Better than what was new back then. When I said correct I mean OEM, not a china knockoff or a aftermarket cover. Let me check with my local guys, they go south of the border and do stuff.

    67-69 Chrome Valve Covers

Is there a source for the correct chrome valve covers? I would like to replace the worn chrome on mine, or have them plated. Thanks in advance.

    GTS or GSS

I don't know if they all were sold my Mr. Norm. The Bee leaver that Ron Mancini drove and the GTS that Landy had were both M code Darts. Reggie Jackson had one in his collection before one of his storage buildings burnt down.

Man I looked at one and they are EXPENSIVE! Super neat, but I think at the Nats you can buy a windowed junk block for the same amount!

    440 motor in 68 Barracuda

Go into the big block a section of the forums and you will see a post for a 440 cuda just like you want to do. It will work, just real close. Look for CUUDAK he had a cuda with that combination. I plan to do the same thing. I think with some K member shims, moving motor mounts around a little...

    440 into 67' barracuda Formula S

thanks cudaspaz! she has been a lot of fun! she has 3 different lives so far!
