Just throwing this out there, but is it possible that when it locked up, that the cam key snapped and the cam gear spun on the cam??

I run Champion N12YC plugs. Since I don't have a radio I do without the Resistor. Its function is to control electromagnetic interference. In a racing engine with an MSD ignition it will slightly lower the energy delivered at the plug gap.

If your parking brake works, chock your wheels, put on the parking brake & put the car in gear. Now you should be able to find your noise.

What gauge is the positive cable that goes from the battery to the starter? Regular 4ga has too much resistance for such a long run. I found that 00 welder's cable worked great You should run the ground from the battery to the frame not the fender.

Are you using resistor plugs?

I throw out the compression ring, fill the terminal with hot solder, then push the cable in. Just like new.

I've got 3757901 UNILITE distributor on my Barracuda. It's hooked up to a Mallory 6852M HYFIRE 6A control box, a Mallory 29216 Coil & MSD 31193 8.5mm 40 ohm plug wires. Killer spark.

Yup, more than likely you have a weak ground on yor parking lights. Clean the ground wires for the front parking lights, the tail lights and your body ground connection.
