    Transmission for push-button Barracuda

The good news is, that the K frame in Early A bodies such as the 64-66 Barracudas are the same no matter if the car came with a 6 cylinder or V8. You just need some Early A V8 motor mount brackets and insulators. The steering center link on V8 cars had a drop down in it so it would clear the oil...

    Trip To A&A Transmission.. WOW!

I met Rick at The Mopar Nationals years ago. Super nice guy who treated me like he'd known me forever.

    Transmission for push-button Barracuda

Unless you are just REALLY wanting to use the pushbuttons, get a later model 904 for a V8 and use it. You could easily use an aftermarket shifter to make it work. Finding a cable shift 904 is harder than it used to be, plus...you need one with a valve body from an actual push button car instead...

    Another 904 trans ID

You will need to use the lockup converter that hopefully came with it. Your other one won't work, and the valve body that is in it will need to be retained to lock up the converter. Looking at how someone had the kickdown lever tied back, I hope you don't go thru all the work to get it in and...

Solve the puzzle? Draining converter with Magnum flex plate

Great! Just didn't want you to have extra work on top of the drain plug worries. I wonder if you were to remove the converter to flex plate bolts, then push the converter back into the trans as far as it will go, could you get a wrench on that drain plug? That may not work because of the lip...

Solve the puzzle? Draining converter with Magnum flex plate

No help on the drain plug, but if you are using that converter on a 5.9 Magnum, you need to remove the weights from the converter. The 5.9 Magnum has weights on it for the balance of the motor, so none are needed on a converter. It would shake your teeth out using both....lol.

How much power will a stock 904 handle

Don, look over on Moparts in the transmission for sale section. There's a guy that sells billet servo's, band struts and stuff. He has some kind of reverse wound accumulator spring that may be what was mentioned above. MrRandyJ is his name and you can't miss all the shiny billet parts in his...

correct flex plate for 360 Magnum

If you're going to retain the Magnum fuel injection, you need to use the factory 5.9 Magnum flex plate anyway. Rat one hole out and you'll be good.

    A518 46RH rebuild

Looks like it worked out pretty well! I'd say the holes in the top of the frame rail for the new crossmember location will be fun to drill...lol. Right angle drill adapter time!

    A518 46RH rebuild

Yeah, no derail intended. He's putting this transmission in a D100, so that's why I asked.

    A518 46RH rebuild

Have you figured out the transmission mount for it yet? I will be putting a 518 in my 88 D100 and had thought of maybe trying to scrounge an entire transmission crossmember from a 92-92 D100, D150 or a Ramcharger for my swap. I'm putting a 1998 model 5.9 Magnum in mine and have a line on a 91-93...

    Non ATF+4 in a A500 trans..?

To be fair, I let mine go too long because it was easier to top it off then it was to make time to fix it. :realcrazy:

    Non ATF+4 in a A500 trans..?

@Duster346 Chris....have you heard of using a blue colored hydraulic fluid as transmission fluid in automatics? I read here or somewhere else that it is the equivalent of ATF+4 or better. I'll give you an AMEN on not pouring DexIII in on top of ATF+4. Wifes 96 Chrysler Cirrus got to leaking...

Abody SBP 7&1/4 vs 8&3/4 SBP overall length

Sounds like it's going your way. I'd whole lot rather have to adjust the outer wheel tubs with a BFH than have to do all you'd have to do to get clearance on the springs!

    318 904 Compatibility

Yep....the adapter ring goes in the tail of the crank where the flexplate bolts on. It keeps the nose of the converter from wobbling around in the back of the crank. Cheap fix to make the 88 motor and 67 trans work together.

    low gearset 904?

Pretty sure all of the later versions of the 904, which are 998 & 999 transmissions had the low first gear sets. To be able to quickly tell if they are lockup or non lock up, look at the input shaft. The non lockup will have an input shaft that is the same size all the way to the tip, like a...

What 8.25 rear axle fits my 1964 Dodge Dart best?

Just for the heck of it....I got on Google Maps and checked Burgum to London. 7 hours and 57 minutes. Seems like a good road trip. Does the EU let you cross borders without it being a big deal?

Where did this term "chunk" come from?

I know a guy who pronounces it Elderbrock. :BangHead: Every time I hear him say it, I ask if it's an OLD intake. Been asking him 20 years....and he has yet to figure out why I ask! :realcrazy:

Where did this term "chunk" come from?

A chuck is a steak. A chunk is an 8 3/4 pig. You can chuck a chunk in a truck or a trunk, but if you're a wormy little guy get help from a lunk.

A904 inspection cover fitment with mini-starter

I looked up the starter on Rock Auto, and the one in their pic has the top bolt hole in the starter with threads in that hole. Did you have to ream the threads out so you could get the top bolt to go in from the front instead of the back? Glad you got it to fit with just a little snipping...

A904 inspection cover fitment with mini-starter

Any dust cover that would have been on a vehicle that had a 5.7 Hemi will not fit up to a 904. I would just trim the 904 dust cover a little at a time until the starter bolt holes line up, add just a teeny bit more clearance between the edge of the cover and the starter and send it. Just...

Shift NOW! Not sooner, Not later.

Seems like I remember you posting pics or a diagram of your switch mounting setup. Did it get made as a sticky by the mods? If not, it should be because it's a great idea to keep from having to crawl under the vehicle 47 times to adjust it!

    A904 Woes.. not working right..

Awesome! Be sure to show pics of it again if/when you do a build thread on the 46RH. I kinda thought it was you or the guy who built the cool 64-65 Valiant.

    A904 Woes.. not working right..

I've seen more than one transmission guy say to beware of the spring in the OD unit. They say you need a press to get it in and out safely, and also a tool made specifically for that. Someone on here made a tool to use in the press, but I can't remember who it was.

    727 TF transmission line fittings

The only pics I had were on my old laptop that crashed and was unrecoverable. The steel lines up the frame rail just followed the bends of the frame rail, from right in front of the transmission/torsion bar crossmember, all the way to the radiator support right under the battery tray. I used the...

    727 TF transmission line fittings

Run the steel lines up the drivers side frame rail between the steering box and the frame rail. Use bulkhead fittings at the firewall to connect them and then run steel lines over to a stacked plate transmission cooler with AN fittings. Use steel braided lines from the transmission over to the...
