1” or 2” lift Espo springs

Post a pic when you get them on. Those springs are what I have intended to buy for my 70 Duster.

Can somebody please identify these disc spindles

F body would have had slider type caliper brackets, I think. Those have pin type caliper brackets. If you have any BBP A body rotors around, see how the inner wheel bearing fits those spindles. If it's to big, those might be 72 or 73 B body spindles. 73 B bodies had some weird K frame that was...

Disk brake conversion, ball joint hitting lca

I had that happen years ago when I added BBP disc brakes to a Duster. I mismatched parts, is what caused it. I used 74 Swinger BBP spindles on 72 LCA's with sway bar tabs because I had the LCA's and the sway bar laying around from a car I junked out. Car wouldn't turn in a 40 acre field! I...

Those things are the devils work! It doesn't take but once to learn that lesson, and will change even a hard head like mine's to rethink Green Bearings. :BangHead:

First step to restoring my 1974 Duster; Front End rebuild (coilovers needed?)

If it's a factory 318 car, it will already have front disc brakes.

    Dr Anti-sieze got me....

Can you just pull the LCA's off the pins, and then hold the pin that will still have the inner sleeve on it with vice grips, then back the nut off the other end? Of course, that's after you slide the torsion bars back.

    Borgeson steering box hardware issue

What was the issue with the bolt, in case someone else has the same problem and does a search?

    Borgeson steering box hardware issue

Are you reusing the factory bolts, or did the Borgeson box come with new ones? If it came with new ones, compare the length to the old bolts. It may be too long and bottoming out before the head contacts the mount on the box.

    Power steering leak

I had to replace that same seal on a B body once. The hardest part is pulling the column out. I drove a very small flat screwdriver between the outer edge of the seal, and the seat, and pryed it right out. Taped up the splines on the input shaft to keep from boogering up the new seal, cleaned...

    Power steering gearbox leak

Another tip..... when installing the new seal over the shaft, tape the splines on the shaft with a round of electrical tape before sliding the new seal over them. That will keep the splines from cutting the new seal.

    K Frame Identification Help

It may have been modified to use with a big block. The motor mounts that are zip tied to it look like big block mounts, and it makes sense for someone to exert the effort to keep the mounts with the k frame if it has been modified as such.

Borgeson PS box in Early A with 340 manifold ???

Post some pics of how all that fits. It might be a good idea to read this thread in the link below if you haven't already. The last few pages tell of a hissing issue with the Borgeson box. It would be nice to fix it before you have to redo it, if possible. BORGESON steering box

Borgeson PS box in Early A with 340 manifold ???

I saw one in a 65 Barracuda a few weeks ago, but it had the factory early A manifolds still in place. Seeing that gave me the same idea to use 340 HP manifolds in my Barracuda. It looked like a mile of room left! The early A drivers side manifolds leave the motor much the same way as 340 HP...

Got any pics of where you cut the k frame and welded in new metal? Sounds like a pretty good swap!

    Qa1 k member / hdk coilover frontend

el5dart.…..I got that same kit from HDK to install in my 70 Duster. I am using a stock spool mount k frame, but the kit works the same either way. I cannot say enough good things about the quality of the workmanship on every single part that makes up this kit! I have it installed on my Duster...

US CAR TOOL CORE SUPPORT ?

It's a structural component, so I'd weld it. Just do like the others have said, and use the weld thru primer....and then the epoxy primer after you weld it. Unless you're moving to the Pacific Northwest and using it for a daily driver, I doubt it will ever rust out. I am going to use the same...

    removing lwr control arm pivot

I've used my floor jack plenty of times to get them out. Take the jack pad out, and stick the pin up thru the hole from the bottom. Put the lower control arm pointing towards the back of the jack, so the jack will hold it down. Put a big washer or 3 on it and put the nut back on. Stand on the...

    anyone know?

Is a Duster manual shaft the same no matter what type column? I have a 70 manual steering column that is a 3 on the tree configuration, and have no plans to use it. If it will work, let me know!

    hydroboost

Maybe a PS pump from a Dodge truck with hydra boost would bolt to your brackets. I bought a 5.9 Magnum motor out of a 98 3500, and it had hydra boost. The PS pump has 3 hoses on the back of it, but I never saw how it was configured because the dude had the motor out when I got there. The pump...

    3 on the tree column

Do all of the shifting guts come out of one of these columns pretty easy? I have one I need to put back into a car, and don't need the 3 on the tree shifting parts. I want to basically make it into a floor shift column. This is a column from a 70 Duster. Any help appreciated.

$35 Electric Power Steering with Fail-Safe - No eBay module and no caster issues!!!

Awesome research, and an even more awesome write up! The only downside I see to using EPS in an older car, is that it would not be able to be used with a column shifter. My wife has an 06 Saturn Vue, and the EPS is completely silent. Thanks again for the research and willingness to share it.

HDK Tubular Coil Over for Stock Steering

You're welcome to come look at mine when you get home. I'm putting it in my 70 Duster with a 5.7 Hemi. I'm still doing the installation, and as slow as I'm moving......it will still be easy to see when you get back! LOL.

HDK coil over system - spring selection

I have one of Denny's stock k coilover conversion kits, and I don't see any way you could make a factory LCA work. I'm pretty sure you're going to need the LCA's, pins they mount to, and rear support brackets.

    Front suspension options

I think you should wear out a measuring tape before you give up on the CV. If the track width you desire can be achieved, and the rear stabilizer arms can be mounted without getting in the way of the headers you want....it's worth a try. Really, looking at a CV front end sitting in the...
