    Mopar Action subscription

Rick's writing style was funny. I patterned my own based on how he told stories through captions and pictures. I have many project threads at FBBO in the same theme as how he wrote.

    Mopar Action subscription

No, sir....you are absolutely wrong there. Mopar Muscle embraced the GYC jerkoffs....featuring monthly segments on the show and what was going on at their shop. Mopar Action was legit.

Does anyone like 4 door A body mopes?

Scamp? You're close. The Scamp was a 2 door model with the Dart 111" wheelbase. The brown car I posted was a standard Valiant. I was passing through Fair Oaks/Citrus Heights and at the intersection of Madison and Van Maren.

Local People seem to be more friendly when im on vacation.

I’m honest enough to admit that I don’t know everything so help me out here. It seems that whenever I go to another town for a visit or vacation, the locals seem to be friendly. I am Not the world traveler that many of you are, I’ve never been out of the country. I’ve been to Georgia, Florida...

I saw this today in the Sacramento area.

Any help with what these parts go to?

This is an easy one: Those can be used to lift or lower a vehicle with leaf springs by placing the aluminum block/spacer between the spring and the axle housing. Because they move the axle further away from the spring, you need the longer U-Bolts.

How many of your personal cars ended up in junkyards?

That is a punch to the gut. You stumble upon the car that you used to like in a place you hoped it wouldn't be. Sort of like seeing an old girlfriend at the strip bar dancing for rent money.

Oh man, that is tragic. Sorry, man.

    Who remembers Valiant effort

Ha! Yeah....The things we did THEN, versus what we do now! The car was originally a Gold color: That was the mid 90s before I jumped back into Mopars with both feet and learned the correct ways to restore them. I still have much to learn but I don't do that anymore!

Steve Magnante has been MIA for awhile....here is why:

Yeah, he does look thinner there. Thanks. That is the one that I saw.

Steve Magnante has been MIA for awhile....here is why:

I saw a video a few minutes back that was listed as being posted 12 hours ago. I hope that he IS back. He did make a video from inside a building as if it were from a room or hospital bed. I'd imagine being bedridden awhile, he probably lost some weight and muscle so he might appear different...

Wow, you WERE lucky. It sucks to lose a cool car.

How many of your personal cars ended up in junkyards?

I’ve parted out several cars but I’m only aware of a scant few that absolutely went to the junkyard not long after I sold it. A 73 Camaro of mine was towed after a person crossed in front of me and I broadsided him. My 2006 was totaled after I was hit in the side. It was too far gone to fix at a...

How many of your personal cars ended up in junkyards?

My mom sold a 79 Camaro Z28 when dad bought her a used 82 Trans Am. I wanted that Camaro but couldn’t afford what it was worth then. I saw it a few years later all dirty and neglected on some dudes side yard. I told him that was my mothers car. He said “ Yeah?” I said ….”Thst used to be a...

Seeing your beloved car rot away over time would be sad too.

How many of your personal cars ended up in junkyards?

Ha.... My very first one did, a '69 Dart 318 I had for a little over a year in 82-83. I sold it to buy a Dart Sport. About a year after I sold it, I saw it at a local U-Pull-It junkyard. It was a sad moment for me. It wasn't even wrecked, they must have encountered something mechanical they...

    Ground hog.....no shadow...wahoooo

Some swollen rodent emerges from a fake tree and a group of dorks celebrate what the stinky thing supposedly sees. No matter what, Spring officially begins around March 21st EVERY year. If you want to go along with this whole schmere, go ahead. I love stupid and silly things but this really...

    Who remembers Valiant effort

That car was a hodge-podge.... It started out a 318-904-7 1/4 axle with rubber floor mats... I used it for a video movie that I made in 1998-99. It had a Dukes of Hazzard theme... I had a fake roll bar made from 2" ABS plumbing.... Through the window you can see it's sister, the stunt...

    Who remembers Valiant effort

Ha... I didn't care if women or my buddies liked the cars that I owned. IF they did, that was nice but it sure wasn't why I picked them.

    Who remembers Valiant effort

I did read those articles. The name for the car sort of seemed weird though. A "Valiant Effort" is associated with a failure despite one's best attempts at success.

Opinions from those who have Mopars but no garage

I have a couple of car buddies that bought houses with NO garage, I suspect it was because they knew I was a Carpenter that would be asked to rescue them. I can't help but find it pathetic to see a car guy intentionally buy a place without having adequate working space, even a single car garage...

Can you identify these parts ?

The car I parted out was a 74. Those have 3 point seat belts where the shoulder belt stays attached to the lap belt. Nothing attaches to the headliner.

Thank you. I figured that they might be for the interior or the underside of the hood.

Last summer I parted out a 74 Duster and these things may have come from that car.

Engine oil, API ratings and oil integrity

Today I stumbled upon a small stash of UNused oil in bottles that had no date code on them but did have the SAE API circle with ratings of SD and SF. I thought that I was told that the higher in the alphabet the second letter was, the higher the detergent level. In short, an oil like this...
