Have you ever seen any Dart, Valiant, Demon or Duster with a rear window defroster?

Oh, I love most everything about where I live except the government. We are still looking but nothing we have seen meets our needs completely. I'd bet there are even fewer Dusters with defoggers in Arizona!

Have you ever seen any Dart, Valiant, Demon or Duster with a rear window defroster?

^^^^^ Yeah, but it is COLD. I don't like to have multiple layers of clothes on to do things. Maybe it is a form of claustrophobia or something. I hate feeling bogged down with a lot of clothes on. I HATED wearing the safety harnesses at work in construction too. Hardhats? BOOOooo! Boots...

Have you ever seen any Dart, Valiant, Demon or Duster with a rear window defroster?

California is quite diverse in the climate. There are forests, mountains, valleys and deserts. In the 50s-70s, there was a steady stream of people moving here from the North and the East. My own family moved here, Mom, Dad and 3 kids in 1968. People wanted to get away from the cold, the snow and...

Have you ever seen any Dart, Valiant, Demon or Duster with a rear window defroster?

Come on...earthquakes??? That absolutely comes across as petty jealousy. The last quake of any significance was 35 years ago and my place was totally unaffected. Fires? Yeah....in the mountain zones of which I don't live near. Mudslides? Same as above....I'm not in Malibu or the Bay area. I...

Have you ever seen any Dart, Valiant, Demon or Duster with a rear window defroster?

NONE of those things have happened to me or anyone I know. Stop believing the headlines. The worst thing here is the government, not the climate.

I'll bet you guys wish that you never had to deal with snow! Defrosting glass just isn't needed that often here.

Wow, I have NOT seen that before, Marvin. (The dash switches)

Do you remember if it was the type that blew air at the glass or had that grid in the glass?

Have you ever seen any Dart, Valiant, Demon or Duster with a rear window defroster?

This subject came up on the FMJ forum. A member there mentioned that in New York, cars that are model year 1974 and later are required to have rear window defrosters. They have a few exclusions but it got me curious... I have never seen any sort of rear window defroster in any A body, ever. None...

    OPINIONS...........CHROME OR PAINTED RALLY MIRRORS?

Same here. One advantage with Chrome is that there is no paint to chip off.

    Worst Repair Ever!

I am not criticizing you for the dedication, I can see why sone people would go this far. Sometimes it snowballs… you have X amount of time and money in it so far but you keep finding more areas that need attention.

    valiant trunk lid interchange question

Your 71 Valiant 2 door was a Valiant "Scamp". It also had a 111" wheelbase despite being a 2 door model. The 4 door Valiants used that squared off trunklid through 1973. They had a 108" wheelbase.

    valiant trunk lid interchange question

Wrong. The '70 Dart went to the sloped trunk line, the Valiant kept the square style through 1973. Note the 1972 and later side marker lenses.

    valiant trunk lid interchange question

I thought that they would physically fit from 1967 to 1973. 2 door and 4 door used the same lid. There may have been styling changes from year to year for the trim.

69 Dart lock supposed to open when door shuts?

This is weird. It reminds me of how the woman gains weight right after you say I LOVE YOU. How do you fix that one?

    Paint advice needed

I set up a plastic sheeting "curtain" inside the shop. I attach it to the roof trusses and leave at least 8 feet around the car to work and move. I try to paint between 65-95 degrees. Under 65, the paint doesn't flow out that well and takes too long to dry. Over 95, the paint dries too fast and...

    Paint advice needed

I buy from Mac's distributing on Auburn Blvd. They have been fair to me for well over 20 years. It really is best to buy more than you think you'll need. Running short while doing a job really sucks! I did a '74 Duster 360 with a gallon of Omni.....The paint was so transparent I had to go 5-6...

    Paint advice needed

Another way to explain it is that the bond that any paint or primer has is either chemical or mechanical...hopefully both. Chemical is where the components bind to the existing surface like an adhesive. Mechanical is where the surface is roughed up so the paint/primer/clear has something to...

    Paint advice needed

This car, painted in 2003.... Had metal etch primer, high build primer, PPG Deltron base and PPG 2002 clear. For a 20 year old paint job, it has held up well. NO epoxy, NO sealer either. The use of sealer gained popularity after mine was painted. Some people err on the side of caution with...

Have you ever wondered why the doors got heavier?

I found out the hard way too. I broke a window in a Dart Sport and even though the cars were still showing up in junkyards back then, it took some serious scouting to find the right one. The other door in the car had a different style, leading me to think the car was patched together over time.

Have you ever wondered why the doors got heavier?

This door also had that weird window regulator that was a hollow tube instead of those C shaped channels to guide the window glass.

Have you ever wondered why the doors got heavier?

I knew from my years owning Camaros that around 72-73, the cars started gaining weight. The same happened to other cars including A bodies. I bought this Ruster a few months back….. It was a 1974 slant six model but had disc brakes and some other parts worth pulling. It was way too rusty to...

    Can this mirror be refurbished?

If nothing else, smooth it out and spray it body color. Painted mirrors don't look bad if they are done right. I'm considering a switch to painted 70-76 A body Sport mirrors for this car:
