Rear tire size on a 75 Dart

This 67 Dart of mine had Wheel Vintiques 15 x 8 Rallye wheels with almost dead center offset, 4". The rims were 8 1/2" overall width. Tires were 255-60-15s....... They fit but it was tight. This is with a 1966-67 B body 8 3/4" axle. I swapped these into this car later..... They fit the...

    Tire age

Good point, but...... I had 11 years on a set of Nitto 555 tires on my Charger. I was having some vibration issues and thought that maybe they were out of balance. America's Tire wouldn't rebalance them since they were over 10 years old. The rears had 40-50% tread, the fronts were 80%+ with...

    235/60/15 on front of duster?

One tenth of an inch??That is less than an eighth. The factory built these cars on assembly lines with tolerances worse than that. You'd never notice it in the real world.

    235/60/15 on front of duster?

The front wheels were 15 x 6 1/2". Rear were 15 x 8 from Wheel Vintiques. No fender modifications. Stock 11" front discs, stock alignment. 235-60-15 BF Goodrich tires, 255-60-15s on the rear.

    235/60/15 on front of duster?

These fit and didn't rub. This is a '74 Duster I made to look like a '71 340 model.

Looks like the dreaded Hedman Hedders. I hate how they misspell "Headers"...

Nice looking 18s on this '73 Sport

I agree with this 100%. Drag racing is fun but a great handling car can do everything well.

Honest feedback on wheel/tire combo please

The car looks excellent. I'm 56 and a fan of newer wheels. The dudes that stick to stock sizes will ***** and insult guys like me but I don't care. I cannot stand the look of painted steel wheels and small hubcaps on anything but a stripped down model from the 60s. I know that a lot of people...

    Leaking tire plug repair

Tire plugs are crude but they do work. I've put them in several different tires and have never had a failure.

    This is a 67 Dart with a 66 B body 8 3/4" axle....Wheel Vintiques 15 x 8 Rallyes, 6" back spacing.

    Adaptors

Part of the problem will be that the adapters will push the wheels out another inch toward the outer body. The wheels and tires may not clear then. A buddy has a 1970 Dart Swinger with a 340. I sold him a custom set of 15 X 6 rallye wheels with the small bolt pattern. The 235-60-15 tires are...

    Wheel Fitment HELP!!

One thing that helps is a "Mock-Up". Take a look at the wheels on it now and see how much clearance you have around everything...THEN imagine it with a larger diameter, a greater or lesser offset, more width, etc. If you have 4 inches from the tire to the leaf springs, you can figure that 3...

I need help with tire size

Shoot, now you have me doubting myself. It was my car, I ordered the tires through Summit but now I have a fuzzy memory that the 235s were not in stock. Didn't they have a common habit of being spotty in terms of availability? I went with the BF Goodrich because the rear tires I already had were...

I need help with tire size

This is a 235-60-15 on a 6 1/2" rim. It cleared fine. I had .920 torsion bars, a 1.25 sway bar and KYB shocks. (Before I knew how shitty KYBs were compared to Bilsteins!)

The wheel you mention has 3 3/4" backspacing. You will be fine.

    Front tire dilemma

    I wish I knew....They were stock wheels for a 70-72 B body. 6.5", most likely a 3.25 Back space.
  20. Kern Dog

    Front tire dilemma

No. These are 235-60-15s on 15x6.5" wheels. The Duster has tighter fitment because the wheel opening is not as wide at the bottom as a Dart.

Can we talk about "center bore" for a minute?

I am not ready to throw R/E under the bus. I do agree that he has a couple of viewpoints that have not been 100% or that are more of an opinion but he has made sense far more than not. I agree that the A/B and FMJ knuckles are both fine for street use. I am also fine with the aforementioned...

Can we talk about "center bore" for a minute?

Mopar Action magazine tech guru Rick Ehrenberg is a HUGE proponent of proper hubcentric wheels. He has an engineering background and is often driven by sound theory. I can appreciate that, but.... Even the factory has shipped out vehicles with NON huncentric wheels, the Magnum/Road wheels are...

    Dart with b body 8.75

The Dart had 255-60-15 tires on those 8" rims. Yes, it was a tight fit! I was not trying to prove you wrong, I was just stating that with the 6" back space number, it fit on my car without any modifications.

    Dart with b body 8.75

I have a '68 Coronet B body 8.75 axle in my 67 Dart. 15x8 wheels do fit but they had 6" of backspace. Custom wheels from Wheel Vintiques.

Wheels for the back of an A Body barracuda....?

Yeah...I was somehow thinking a 64-66 since they have the smallest wheel openings but a 67-69 can take a 15x10 if you are willing to take the tire a bit beyond!

Wheels for the back of an A Body barracuda....?

One easy trick that you can do to put your mind at ease: Mount up some stock wheels and tires and get under the car with a tape measure. Look around and see how much clearance there is between the tire and leaf springs and between the tire and outer wheel edge at the quarter panel. Chances are...

    Repro center cap issues

I don't see any caps in that picture. If you mean the Sombrero style caps used in the Rallye wheels, they were held on with screws originally, right?

Plymouth Duster 1973 small block wheels

I think those wheels will fit if the car is lifted up but will probably hit the body when you turn the front wheels.

Plymouth Duster 1973 small block wheels

I think the OP is from the Dominican Republic. There may be a slight language barrier but here goes: The 10 inch wide wheels are a real tight fit in the rear. They may fit with 4 1/2 inches of backspacing as long as the car sits at stock height or higher. The 8 inch wide front wheels are going...
