Sure the heck beats a Pro-Street car.

A good handling street car can still be fast in a straight line. A drag race car usually isn't as good for general street duty but is still fun. I always preferred a car with a range of abilities, a well rounded performer.

The feeling of the car cutting left and right while the steering wheel feels directly connected to the pavement is amazing. I do enjoy hanging the tail out drift style but this road race stuff looks like a ton of fun.

Yeah, it is an E body but still an amazing Mopar. Notice how well the thing sticks in the turns. THAT looks like far more fun than any 1/4 mile pass!

    2022 Moparty

Be a baller. Do what YOU want and let others just deal with it. History fondly remembers the men that made their own roads, not the ones that followed others and asked for permission.

Nothing worse than watching the weather on race weekends

An unreachable itch is worse. (Just guessing)

    Interior Door Pulls

I was glad to help. Situations like this are great....when one man's parts in a shed turn out to be something that another man can use. You would have spent 3-1/2 gallons of gas to drive out to my place to get them. Your place is along my way home and not a problem. Evan made me a great deal on...

    Interior Door Pulls

I’m not sure if you remember my backyard shop. I can get up in the attic with a ladder. I’ve been up there a bunch lately gathering parts to put the Duster back together.

    Interior Door Pulls

If I have them, I can drop them at your place after work this week. I might be busy tomorrow and Wednesday though.

72 and later. I might even have a couple in my attic. Call me tomorrow afternoon and remind me to take a look. They'd be FREE of course....

How about a strap like they used on some Dodge trucks and Ramchargers?

Things you did/upgraded that surprised you how helpful they were

I do love the one in my Charger.

Things you did/upgraded that surprised you how helpful they were

Only two? Car lift. Holeeeee crap, what a huge improvement in convenience. No more squatting to do brakes, no more flat back transmission swaps, you can stand while doing everything. Air tools. Time saver for sure but also a great help when in tight spaces where a ratchet may only be turned 1/8...

383 big block builds, from mild to wild, I want to hear about them!!

Hey there... You recall my build for the 383 in my Jigsaw Charger over on FBBO, right?

Pics from the Holley Moparty . Post them here.

A buddy of mine was there. He sent me a video of the General Lee Jump. Looks like the guy came up a bit short. The car they used looks like that Ford Crown Victoria that was reskinned with AMD Charger panels.

That is one way to see it. Another is that strong minded individuals will be even harder to fool next time.

    Lunati Lifters

Years back I ordered a Lunati cam and their solid lifters... The real narrow center worried me. I thought they would result in a loss of oil pressure so I returned them. Strange design....I never even slipped them in the engine but I suspected that at high lift, the oil would gush right...

Dumb things that you did.......because you didn't know any better.

Thanks to everyone for sharing their stories. It takes a good spirited person to admit their mistakes! I've made plenty...BUT I feel that the guy that makes NO mistakes is the guy that never tries anything. You can't screw up stuff if you never leave the couch. I look at things and wonder how...

" And to think I almost scraped my old W2 heads" Did they have dirt on them? Carbon build-up? Why scrape them? :poke:

Apparently I suck at drag racing...

Thank you for being honest and humble enough to tell everyone. Nobody is great at stuff when they first start, right? How close was the fan clutch to the radiator? I have a 65 Dart with a 318 and the room is really tight! I have a later model 318 with an aluminum pump so that probably sticks out...

    Rear spring question

The Charger has a 117" wheelbase so even with the GV in there the drive shaft wasn't too short. Yeah, it shortens it by about a footto 14" I can't recall exactly. I saved my stock drive shaft and just reused it when I pulled the GV out. The shaft I used with the GV was a fixed yoke on each end...

    Rear spring question

I had a pair of Super Stock spring mounts in my 70 Charger for years. I used them because they allowed me to drill holes HIGHER on the bracket to lower the car without de-arching the springs. I later had a Gear Vendors overdrive unit in the car. I had a series of vibrations with the GV in the...

    Early B body 8 3/4 question

Those are still good candidates, you just need to have different housing ends welded on.

    Early B body 8 3/4 question

Be wary of the housings that used the brake drums retained by castle nuts and cotter keys. I can't recall what they were called but they were used up to 1964.
