TTi dual exhaust '67 dodge dart

Yes, they are tight. They are tight around the shocks also. Make sure those are in place as you are checking clearances.

    Accurate Exhaust

Mine is a #'s car. I love my Accurate exhaust. Fit well, sounds great, quality stuff. They collect NOS pipes and duplicate.

I could use a 1974 slant six manifold heat control valve expert!

Not a good idea to coat the spring, it is thermostatic so is temperature sensitive. It will "windup" or "unwind" according to the temperature. If I understand your description it seems to be working but is coiled one turn too loose or is installed backward. Cold at rest the butterfly should be...

    69 Dart/Barracuda 340/383 tail pipe size?

Been through this on my '68 cuda 383. Different venders supplied slightly different variations from the factory. So there will be some debate about what was "original". Originally my car came with 1 7/8"/ 2" exhaust w/ tips. The system was 2" through the mufflers and over the rear end. Then the...

    Alternatives to Accurate Ltd.

Just fired my engine with new Accurate exhaust. It fit well and sounds great. Hearing that seemed to diminish the pain of the cost.

How can I make my slant six exhaust manifold look great?

I have used the Eastwood high temp brush on paint on two cars. It comes in three colors but I use the "stainless steel" color. When it cures (by heat) it looks like new natural cast iron and lasts years. Easy to touch up.

    Heat Riser.

How it works- the purpose of the thermostatic spring is to provide more tension on the butterfly when it is cold. When the spring heats up it relaxes that tension allowing the butterfly to open easily thus sending fewer exhaust gasses to the intake manifold. When warmed up the butterfly still...

    Collector ? Flange ?

You should be able to buy 3/4 bolt flanges and weld them on. These headers were made for a race only application and no need for an exhaust system.

    Exhaust Manifold Part#

Thanks- I should frequent MyMopar more often. Seems two manifolds were used. Difference is the angle of the exit opening. P/S might explain it.

    Exhaust Manifold Part#

Found a manifold for an "A" body 383, left side, but the casting number was ......002. My '68 cuda is ......729. Is .....002 a left side for a '67? Or something else?

Too general! What is "early" and what is "late"? What engine? Be more specific.

    Full exhaust with relocated springs

    Deceleration valve leaking?

Maybe you are thinking of the EGR valve which is a massive air leak?

    Impossible to install spark plugs!

Maybe an old trick will help- instead of a socket, try using a short piece of rubber hose to start plug. I would be inclined to grind away excess header/head material now so that future maintenance will be easier.

    Thermal spring broken

If you decide to keep your heat riser valve working, then for proper operation you need the thermostatic spring to be working properly. The purpose of the spring is to increase the resistance to opening while cold, allowing the choke to heat up and then open. Then when warm the spring lessens...

Dart/Barracuda Big block 383 manifolds. 67 vs 68-69 and Exhaust systems

I believe that the '67 left side has a different exit angle than the '68-9. I bought the accurate system. They are expensive but it was important to me that it be "correct" and high quality. They required L&R manifold casting numbers before ordering because of the differences in the years. They...

67 barracuda exhaust manifold factory color

Manifolds were never painted but had engine paint overspray on them. On my resto I painted them Eastwood's stainless steel or silver high temp paint. It is a brush on but no brush marks when cured. Looks like new natural manifolds and easy to touch up.

What size head pipes and tail pipes used on the factory '68 340?

I have owned two '68 cuda factory BB cars, still wearing the original exhaust. After examining these cars and long talks with Accurate Exhaust I have come to this conclusion. While both of my cars have full 1 7/8" systems (the tips are 1 7/8"), the existence of NOS pieces in 2 1/4" leads me to...

Went to get estimates on exhaust

Accurate Exhaust - have not seen their stuff. Would like to hear from those that have. I did talk to them on the phone. We disagreed somewhat on what size pipes my car ('68 cuda big block) should have, based on the original pieces I still had. While on the phone, he went to his warehouse and...

    Egr

California here. We have a lot of experience with smog crap. When EGR's came out in early '70's, Mopars were hesitating on acceleration. The problem was the EGR was opening too fast. You can "adjust" EGR by slightly crushing the top of the diaphram can, thereby increasing the spring pressure on...

Out here in California prices about the same. Don't know what you are expecting from your exhaust, I am doing a restoration so will pass on these people- Accurate Exhaust. I think they are in Oregon.
