    A/C push buttons gasket

Sorry but there were 2 different sizes of buttons. Square holes in this gasket would be different also. DMT likely has both and knows what the transition year was. I'm thinking 64 &65 were the larger buttons but I've been wrong before.

Thinking of going clutch factory style radiator cooling fan..

Reminds me of back when many owners were dropping 350s in S10 pickups. here was only one very close clutch available that would work in that application. Very difficult to find too. Rodney @ Adams Auto Parts knew to gather all he could find and got 40 each for them if my memory serves. Of...

    Factory AC for 68 Valiant.

To simply click the like button wasn't enough. I had to type/say how sweet that unit appears in that car. I saw very close to the same in a early 300C once. Thank you for sharing. I have here what the dealer installed in a 69 Dart. It's called an OEM look alike. It looks like the OEM under dash...

You are still a cut above the OEM push button a/c controller that was always trouble.

    Factory AC for 68 Valiant.

The under dash unit dubbed "knee knocker" has its blower built in. Only mod to the firewall is holes for the 2 freon tubes and a condensation drain.

    Factory AC for 68 Valiant.

Yes there was factory installed a/c but there are several reasons why you don't want it, especially in a build that didn't come with it. Modern aftermarket units like shown above is the "be wise" move.

    Replacing Factory Shroud 1972 Dart

I hope you know to protect the radiator with a large sheet of cardboard first. The slightest wrench bump against the core can cause a pinhole in a tube.

    Reconditioning Factory AC Outlets

A magnet might help where there is iron but those louvers are pot metal. Many I have seen were pitted badly. The pins that mount them are small as sewing needles and will snap right off. I discovered long ago that the black plastic louver sections from the later model will interchange. Best...

louvers are equally spaced. Measure and cut a comb like fixture in wood. Not that I've done this exact chore before.

OEM water temp gauge... Reliable safe zone?

yes and maybe not. These thermal instruments were fairly dependable when new but... without opening for visiual inspection and then testing with decade Ohm's resistor bank, there is a bit of gamble today.

1973 Dart AC compatibility with 1970

Most everything about it changed with the 73 year model. Even the climate controller is different. The V2 compressor will use more fuel and hp than a modern reciprocating compressor.

    Plastic for cooling sucks.

If you ever worked for a dealership service department you are well aware of this "time of year". Ah holiday season in the service department. Spend your whole day playing poker in the break room. Aint no work coming in unless its on a hook. There were days when I went home with less cash in...

Product Review: Thermo-Cure cooling system flush.

First time I flushed the heater core n our first 67model, I didn't use a flushing Tee. I simply took the 2 hoses off the engine a draped them over the fender. Garden hose in one heater hose until water ran clear. A coworker walked out there and said now reverse direction of flow. Yep, nasty...

Caravan (or any) A/C clutch diagnostics

I watched a youtube video once where the guy pretty much knew where the problem was. He went through entire diagnosis to prove a failed harness connector down near the frame rail about 10 inches from compressor. Good luck

    2 questions!

there are 2 screws down near the floor that hold the dash vent assembly up against the main plenum. Then there are studs down through the dash behind the blank spaces between the vents. Deep well socket to get the nuts off those.

    1970 A-Body A/C Controls Help....what years fit?

The controller is the same from 67 to 72. There were slight variations in the vacuum/electric block over the years. I'm not sure if 66 is the same. Early a-bodies had larger buttons. I must add that is a nice example. Many of them have fonts worn away and button stems so yellowed that light...

    a/c for a body

The drier will be replaced regardless. Old hoses can break up as you coil them for shipping so those sections should be replaced. If that model had the chrome vents, pretty and unbroken have value.

Have you ever seen a fan shroud on a 1974 Duster?

The shrouds would hide the fan. That makes it too easy for the novice to stick a hand in the wrong place. When you find the shroud that will bolt onto your radiator, it will have the warning flag, "caution fan" on the top of it.

    Slant Six Coolant Drain

Forgive me for labelling this "silly question"... If the engine isn't running it wont shoot oil out. How about we bet a quarter? Take it out and know if there is coolant or oil behind it. I'll bet another dollar it wont be blood. Cheers

do i need a cooling system resovior ?

My original 67 radiator has over flow tube to right side. I had to relocate 1 of the 2 horns to mount a small hex shaped bottle from Advance auto parts. I guess you can route the rubber hose around and to the right. I dont think you would want a lot of moisture near battery terminals anyway.

    Help with PS belt

Took a tape measure out with me. Crank pulley diameter on the 273 is 6&3/4. So... we have a 1/2 inch difference at that pulley. Some online calculator would get you close. I know those other brands of pumps have different brackets. I dont know about their pulley diameters or position...

    Help with PS belt

Sorry I didn't get back here yesterday. Duralast # 17415. 17420 (1/2" longer) might have tightened and gave a tad more clearance at lower hose but bracket slot doesn't allow a lot of movemment.

There isn't a correct pump. Chrysler would use TRW, Federal, and Saginaw pumps on Dodge, Plymouth, or Cryrsler. Your pics show saginaw pump (ovalneck). You need the correct length belt for that pump. I don't have a clue WTF you are working on so I can only tell you what I know... Aftermarket...

How To Clean & Disinfect Your Cars A/C & Heating System

Wifes RAV4 has a cabin air filter. It was due for oil change in early April. Toyota service dep't recommended new cabin air filter and engine air filter. They charge far too much for these so I always buy them from RockAuto and change them myself. To do so right at the beginning of our tree...

Looks like the fan is way too deep in that homemade shroud. Proper setup might work better. Fan should be about half way in a shroud.
