    Tire age

Used tire retailers are gone in many states. We still have them here in SC but they are req'd to look at build date code. And that really doesn't mean squat. They can't guess how long a tire may have sit flat under a vehicle. Pump it up and get it hot it will round out but it might very well...

    Wheel adapters?

Yep, you'll need 10 of 1/2 lug nuts and a different tire tool.

What size bolt/screws for rallye rim centers.

Be careful with common hardware. If screw heads are too thick, they will hold the wheel away from the hub. I forget where I had this issue. May have been AMC wheel centers.

What’s the tallest front tires you can put on a 67 Dart?

My 67 B'cuda is sitting on 215/70/14 withOEM steel wheels and hub caps. No issues other than speedometer being a little bit wrong. Your OEM bias ply tire was closer to 185/14.

    67 BARRACUDA SPARE TIRE SIZE

Original bias ply tires had very flat side walls. Todays radial tire is too fat. There are space saver tires that will bead up on the OEM wheel and fit in the well. Just example... 1 New Kumho (121) Original Equipment - T105/70d14 Tires 1057014 105 70 14 | eBay You might find a decent one...

Rallye wheel center cap screw mount holes

I recently ran into this issue replacing spark plugs in wifes 2011 RAV4 2.5 ltr. 4 cyl.. Lucky me did have the metric tap to clean up one bolt hole that held their coil pack/plug wire in place. I dont know what plating they put on the bolts but all of them got some anti-seize going back.

Rallye wheel center cap screw mount holes

3 bolts is balanced close enough. A little balance discrepancy so close to center of wheel wouldn't be noticed. 1 missing lug nut or the one larger locking lug nut would prove it. I doubt these cast centers were balanced.

14 inch big bolt steelies and disc brakes

Your OEM should be 4 inch bolt circle, 7/16 studs, left hand threads on left side. The later model disc brakes you found are 4&1/2 inch bolt circle, 1/2 inch studs, all right hand threads. Should still be plenty of the later 4&1/2 bolt circle steel wheels available but I dont know if your OEM...

    Billet Wheel adapter ?

My earliest memory of loosening lug nuts, 1976.... good friends I grew up with. He bought a new VW Beetle for his new wife. The dealership had added the aftermarket alloy wheels. Wasn't long before he learned he would need to check/retorque lug nuts every few hundred miles. Pattern adapters...

    Billet Wheel adapter ?

Brake drums have balancing weights welded on them that sometimes interfere, hold the adapter away from mounting flat/proper. Notch in the adapter may be required. The lug studs on the adapters are 1/2 inch, larger nut, different lug wrench and spare in the trunk just in case you have a flat tire.

    Rally wheel color

Our 1st 67 notch was spinnaker white. I color matched the rally wheels I put on it. Red dust shields inside to hide the disc brakes and keep them clean. Only pic I have is old poorleroy. I find it odd that todays manufacturers and owners want to show off their big *** rotors and calipers...

Anyone running Vectors on a '67-69 Cuda?

American Racing Vectors are recognized as "Dukes Of Hazard General Lee Charger" wheels. I've seen them on boat trailers, look alikes on trucks and conversions van, everything except a B'cuda. I have a pair of the look alikes 8X15 5 on 4.5 that I would sell cheap but shipping 3000 miles would be...

Safe to use Wheel Adapters 5 on 4" to 4.5"?

these adapters got a bad reputation many years ago, mostly due to improper installation. Brake drums have balancing weights welded onto them. In many cases the weight holds the adapter away, it doesn't sit flat to mating surface. Either not noticed or just ignored. Just thrown on with impact or...

    14" or 15" wheels on '67 Barracuda

21570R14 on OEM steel wheels w/ hub caps on my 67 notch. I had 14" magnum 500 road wheels mounted with bolt pattern adapters for a short while. White letter tires too. When I noticed at least 90% of cruise-in participants were rolling on aftermarket wheels, this magnum design being the most...

    Paint Black Design on Hubcap

I haven't done this hubcap detail but have done fender badges and other similar parts. With a little masking ( or none ) you could spray paint it and wipe away the excess. I use a small piece of flat synthetic dress shirt type material wet with thinner laced between my fingers so only middle...

    BBP conversion on my cuda

Additional 5 holes through hubs and axle flanges has to weaken them to some degree. Then horse power/torque applied are factors. I'm sure it has been done before. I don't know how it worked out. Good luck

    Magnum 500

I had magnum wheels on my 67 notch for a little while. After 2 cruise-in events and seeing so dang many of these wheels, I went back to the stock steels and full caps. Using bolt pattern adapters just to have aftermarket wheels that are so common felt foolish. Had to hunt down this pic from...

    wheels adapters

Adapters did get a bad reputation years ago, due to installation and/or fitment. In some applications the adapter would land on top of the balancing weight welded on a brake drum. Make sure they mount flat, torque properly, shouldn't have any issues.

    16" wheels for a 67 barracuda?

Another difference is hole size. Your OEM studs are 7/16 while aftermarket wheels are most likely drilled for 1/2 or 12MM studs. I don't know how much difference that would make other than finding sexy 7/16 left hand thread lug nuts for the left side. Just pointing out another difference.

    Wheel stud spinning

we were typing the same thing at the same time LOL Put a tong type vice grip on the nut to steady it. Center drill, then 1/8 drill, then 1/4 drill, then 3/8 drill, depth just beyond the length of the nut, then use a lug wrench with a piece of pipe/brother on it if needed to bend and break...

    Pitted Wheels

Little separate pits like ..... cant leak air unless they are linked together, more like a pipe. When I worked in a tire store we would run the wheel on the balancer to clean up the beads with wire brush and coat them with bead sealer. My recent issues have been valve stems. I now run metal...

Color coded rim or plain black, why ?

I would imagine that beyond the standard production change date, one could order color keyed wheels.

Is there an actual advantage to BBP vs SBP?

So I'll guess you still have left hand threads at left rear, 7/16 studs left and right rear, thus different lug nut sizes front and rear. A pair of adapters would solve some of it. One spare and one lug wrench at least. Then you would never want to use that OEM bumper jack to change a flat...

Any one use tire valve extensions?

After we cracked a rubber valve stem while washing the car causing a flat ( tires and stems about 10 years old ), I purchased full metal valve stems. I'll add that the rubber valve stems were through holes in OEM hubcaps yet did move enough to crack at its base. Surely easier to crack where...

Rallye wheel center caps need washers?

A toothed washer cant hurt anything so long as the bolt head stays below the wheel to hub mating plane. You don't have a lot of space to work with there.

    Left hand lugs

should is still OEM have left on left, right on right. Easy way to tell, take a single right off the right and try to start it on the left at both front and rear. and since replacement left hand studs are so hard to find, I think if I had just acquired this vehicle/ totally clueless, I would...

    Lug Nut Removal Help Needed

One can develop a lot of hate for locking lug nuts while working at a tire store. 1987 to 92 was my 4 year tour and soooo many customer were completely clueless, "I didn't know there were locking lugs on it so I surely dont know where to find the key". A long 1/4 inch chisel with hammer and...

    Ralley center cap refinishing

Sometimes the chrome under the paint is very thin. You might find yellowish tint splotches in pot metal. Most of them have a thin aluminum sticker applied on the nose, for a brushed aluminum look. Peel that off and clean away the adhesive residue for chrome there also.

Dark gray color for center cap ralley wheels

I don't think you'll find a perfect match in 8 dollar off the shelf selections. Rustoleum has a very close shade but its one of the hammered finish formulas. I didn't follow the application instructions to get the hammered finish. I'm satisfied with results of my minimal investment.
