    Factory door moldings or not

Believe it or not, A guy once told me how to make that rubber insert grow, and it worked. I removed the rubber insert and coiled it into a old electric coffee pot nearly filled with WD40. After about 2 hours of heating, I took it out of the pot, allowed it to cool and put it back in the track. I...

Next Phase of my Mopar Life

Did you know the vinyl top was a copout/shortcut by the mfgrs? When molten lead was used to smooth the body where the sheet metal joined, that chit would flow and lay like mud in a creek bed. Very little finish work was needed. The health hazards of working with molten lead included severe...

    Mabel's home!

Nice car. These bumpers can be straightened. I used some wooden blocks, channel iron shaped sort of like [ and 12 inch C clamps. I worked for plant maintenance in a textile mill at that time. I don't know where you can access those kind of tools.

    Dads 67 "S"capade

its just a sliding contact. OHM meter, Begins at open/park then a closed spot in the middle/reverse, then open again/neutral. Sometimes we can take them apart and clean them. One member used a few parts from the column mounted switch to repair the broken console switch.

    wiper pivots

Really not an easy way. I can remove the instrument panel and whatever else required to work through the dash easier than laying in the floor. You can reach the right pivot with glove box removed. You should replace all of the plastic linkage bushings while in there. The wiper motor is behind...

Bob's Component Resto Part 12: Factory Cruise Control

Back in the 80s, when a shop that built conversion vans was closed there was a sealed bid auction on a lot of left over stuff. I got a unopened dealer install type cruise control kit for Dodge van. I have all the cruise control from a 75 Valiant Brougham with slant 6 too. To this day I dont know...

    Cluster Restoration

Easy Off oven cleaner will remove paint, chrome, everything, without harming the white ABS bezel. I used about 40 dollars worth of Wesley Bleach-White in a soak tank to strip several rally bezels. For 1 small standard bezel, 1 can of oven cleaner should do it.

Considering a '67 Dart GT Convertible as my first project. Am I insane?

The early big block factory builds do cost more. My seller was original owner, knew what he had, guaranteed me I could drive it across country. New hoses and fluids, 5 new tires, ready to go. He was as pleased to see it go to a good home as I was with the purchase. No haggle. Get this... my...

Considering a '67 Dart GT Convertible as my first project. Am I insane?

About 30 years ago, I bought a 67 B'cuda vert to be a father son project. After it was taken apart, 2 operations on my spine, the sons drug addiction, even a insect called power post beetle, combined to move the goal out of my reach. In 2004 I bought a 67 notchback at ebay. 3 different planes...

Considering a '67 Dart GT Convertible as my first project. Am I insane?

Have you ever owned a convertible / tent top? if you own them long enough, you will put another tent on them. Maybe all that black wont get so hot in your region / climate. White top and interior has a broader resale market. Just points to ponder.

My new 71 Dart and the issues I am finding. Help needed please

Turn signal issue is the cancel cam. Some do replace that part of the switch assembly alone. I choose to replace entire signal switch. I dont see a washer bottle. Ignition module?, voltage regulator? something placed where the washer bottle should be. If this build had electric wash there will...

Removing the dashboard switches - dart 65

Pull the headlight stem full on before pressing stem release button. Tapered end of stem should guide it past the latch so no need to push button when reinserting.

Power steering on a 65 dart

Main reason for adding power steering to my 67 was for the smaller 14 inch steering wheel. Beyond acquiring all the needed parts, pulley, pump, belt, hoses... The manual steering column shaft is about 3 inches longer than the power steering shaft. Some simply defeat the shear pins in collapsible...

    The incredible folding Cuda!

No2 lead additive LOL that is OEM sender type/design. Aftermarket replacements are a different design, less accurate at gauge, but much less expensive than having that one restored.

    Classic Industries Catalog... Resto Paradise!!

So they had what you wanted or needed for your model... lucky you. I think about 75% of 67 B'cuda owners would love to have a new set of the multi-ribbed hood medallions. I haven't bought the first part from classic industries yet because they don't offer what I desire the most.

67 Barracuda Big Block K frame keep it or change it ??

He said "power steering and brakes" which I assume meant power brakes. Does the vacuum brake booster fit w/ big block? How does aftermarket k member change available space at firewall? Column shift with Bucket Seats?

Although my 67 B'cuda vert project did have the console, My plan for it was buckets with column shift. Maybe a removable aftermarket center console that included raised arm rest, cup holders. Beyond hiding the floor shifter mechanical, the OEM console is worthless. Oh wait... In a vert one...

Starting up 67 Barracuda has not run for 15 years?

I pull all the spark plugs and turn by hand, then abuse starter and battery to spin the crap out of it before I put fire in the hole. Don't know that having everything oiled up and moving makes a difference though. Good luck with it.

    Small Interior Resto 68' Cuda

As far as I know, that lower woodgrain never was offered OEM. I do have the OEM 68 burl wood appliques stored away here somewhere. I don't recall its condition.

    Small Interior Resto 68' Cuda

Some years ago the aftermarket started reproducing these rallye panel bezels and their parts. While I had assumed the burl wood appliques are available, I never actually shopped for them. Try Classic Industries.

    Small Interior Resto 68' Cuda

Yep, the deluxe interior changed in the mid 68 builds. Burl wood painted on aluminum was carried over from earlier models into 68. The linear grain is made more like formica.

    Small Interior Resto 68' Cuda

The burlwood on your door panels suggests there should be burlwood applied at the upper/black area of you instrument panel ( deluxe interior ). I think those appliques are reproduced but they wouldn't be cheap. They didn't put wood on the console until they deleted that groove down its center...

    Small Interior Resto 68' Cuda

The red wire for the tach could have been placed on the post where the noise suppression cap is but... for what that instrument costs, I would have a inline fuse ( hidden behind the column door and labelled "tachometer" ) no matter where I picked up the switched 12 volts. I know the OEM tach was...

    help with ideas please........

Yep there were some composite mag look hubcaps (3 or more pieces screwed together ). Although only 14 inch, very heavy. These hubcaps were apt to leave a front wheel too. I suspect a soft sidewall radial tire was a player in that happening.
