    I just spoke to him as well to stay on the list. He sounds pretty run down. I know big companies that have put man hours on building a transmission I can only imagine 1 man trying to spend that time and money.

    talked to an OD owner thought I would share info. He has one in a 68 GTX 3.23 gear. He likes except in traffic says he wanted another gear between 2nd and 3rd. Otherwise he is happy with the OD while cruising. the drop between 1st to 2nd is 41% 2nd to 3rd is 38% Personally I think 3.23 gears...

    Not a waste at all. I actually run a 5 speed in my B body but I don't want to cut my factory U code cuda floor so I was thinking a Passon 5 speed which I am on the list for bit was thinking one of his 4 speed OD in the mean time. So was looking for what people thought of his HemI 4 speed OD box

    well the problem now is most companies dont carry a big overhead. everything is made to order. so when you order hundreds or even thousands of bearings and gears they all have to be made and it somtimes takes months just to get to your order. all of a sudden years have gone by and no one...

    Just curious if anyone has ordered one of the new SS700 5 speeds? Basically they say order now get it in October. I know we have heard this all before just wondering if anyone is rolling the dice.

    talked to Paul Lee Prez of Mcleod they are currently waiting for the foundry to finish the tail housings they are trying for 2 months from now. Thats the latest word i have gotten.

    its a very long wait they were trying to get it out last month but surprise surprise they didn't. They don't release alot of press but word is they are waiting on the tail housing from the foundry. i will just paitently wait till someone comes out with a good 5 speed.

    Mcleod's 5 speed will be out in a few days if what they say is true. They said they will be taking orders at SEMA. I am going so I will keep everyone in the loop. I might even order the whole kit.

    I have what I believe is a Small block bell housing the number is 2843887 with a date code J67. I couldn't find this code on any list. Anyone out there have a reference or link?

    I am ready to dive in and disassemble my first 833. Any books other than a shop guide should I look into? Any specific tools other than a press and snap ring pilers? Anyone in near San Diego who have done it before who can lend any aid lol. Ay adive would be great. Brad

    I picked up an 833 from a fellow FABO member I was looking over the ID number but didn't see a raised plate like the later 4 speeds have is this common? I think this is an 64-65 unit so I do not know if they were marked differently Numbers i found were Tail shaft - C-95658-G Main...

    4 speed Hump question

    I am converting from an auto to a 4 speed and my next question for the masses is this. Should I mount the tranny up before I weld in the hump to make sure I get the hole nice and square?
