To be honest, I haven't researched it all that deeply. I had to replace a fender on my 69 Valiant and picked up a fender from a 70 Duster. My stock 69 reflector and housing fit in the side marker recess for the Duster side marker with a bit more room to spare. You have to really look at it to...
I've thought about that and it's probably the way I'll go. The vent window piece seems to be a bit different, though.
Also, does anyone have a line on that stupid plastic pin that holds the window guide on the glass?
OK, I have been searching and need some help.
My 69 Valiant 2dr needs the channel on the back of the vent window and the U channels in the door frames. They are just flat disappearing at an alarming rate and my spine tingles when I roll up the door glass and hear that "screech" sound as the...
That is totally weird. I honestly had never heard that. Then again, when I put glass hoods on, the radio really wasn't my priority. I'll keep an eye out for your post in the electrical section.
Sorry for sidetracking the topic.
Man those look awesome. The black screws really set it off, too. Amazing what four bucks at a hardware store can do for you.
So, it took what? A half hour to install after the two hours of gathering up the nerve to take a drill to your paint? :D
Hey, are you gonna show the window repair also? (Lookin for tips, my Val is a bit weepy there).
I hear ya on the weather here. Reminds me of the week I spent in Cleveland one day.
Man, it's nice to know I'm not the only one who has resistance issues.
Just a thought, but Tony Fields might be able to help ya on that dimension thing.
I see a lot of "pro" builds that have the body color behind the grille, along with polished radiators and little chromey things. It totally washes out the grille. I always thought the grille was one of the defining features of any paticular car and should stand out on it's own.
And here I was thinking this was a thread about married life....
Definately go with the penetrating lube and let it soak. You might find a pair of vise grips will be all you need.
Thanks guys for the input. There is some very appreciated info and excellent work here.
At least I can formulate a plan should it happen again OR maybe even plan a preemptive fix.
