67 Valiant tire and wheel fitment

This might be one of those cases of figuring out the wheel and tire you want to run and then building around that.

67 Valiant tire and wheel fitment

Also, check with Memike or 66340sedan about tire clearance with the fenderwell headers.

67 Valiant tire and wheel fitment

Dude! If you're handy with a welder and going to go the spring pocket route (into the frame rails), mini-tub that bad boy, get 15X10 wheels and put 325s on it. With an appropriately narrowed rear, of course.

67 Valiant tire and wheel fitment

I can't answer for the front, but for the rear, unless you use offset shackles, you won't get a 275 in there. As far as using the B body rear end and the wheels you're looking at, I have only one question... How do you feel about radiusing the rear quarters? I have a 76 Duster 8.25 rear in my...

That is so cool. Thanks again Junior.

    Post mini tub tire combos?

Very cool. Thanks. What did you do along the wheel well lip? Did you leave a Part of the wheelhouse for strength?

    Post mini tub tire combos?

That looks awesome. How did you go about removing the outer wheelhouse part?

Anyone increased backspace via machining rims

Are these cast or actual billet wheels? With a billet, you might be able to get away with some depending on the pad thickness. Cast wheels, no way. You would be better off with the proper wheels. Although as suggested, look into adding more camber and caster into your alignment, first.

I need the truth about wheel adaptors

Is perchance some confusion between wheel adapters and wheel spacers? I'm not a huge fan of either, but adapters have been used for decades on off road vehicles and are even factory equipment on some vehicles. (Think Corvette knock off hubs).

    325/50-15

Doesn't anyone find it a bit nutty that the bias-ply repop is more expensive?

I think out loud too. It just sucks when the voices are louder.... Those damn voices.......

    325/50-15

Do you have rims already? I've done some cars on 18s that have a pretty good height and section width. You might even look into some light truck styles, they usually have more sidewall to get the diameter you want.

Pssst, I don't think he was asking about your sex life.....

What are you guys running for tires?

Lol, just trying to be a little helpfull. I have BFGs on my Roadrunner and went from Toyo Proxies 4 to Goodyears on my Valiant. I liked the Toyos when I was doing corners with her. I'm going in a different direction now, but no real feedback on the Goodyears yet. (The first 40 miles have been great)

What are you guys running for tires?

Go to Tirerack.com and shop by size. It shows a pretty good selection and the prices aren't that bad. Or, if nothing else, it gives you a good idea of what's out there.

    BFGoodrich Radial T/A National Backorder?!

At least someone is still gonna make 'em. It is probably not a huge percentage of BFG's market, which would be why they sold the molds to Corky. Think of what the other option would be.

    BFGoodrich Radial T/A National Backorder?!

    BFGoodrich Radial T/A National Backorder?!

My understanding is that BFG isn't making the traditional Radial T/A anymore and that production of that tire is being taken up by Coker Tire.

problems with cragar SS lug nuts???

Just covering the basics.... Did you try them without the wheel? What does the lugnut say on the side of the head? It should say 7/16 20 LH. Do you use anti-sieze on the wheel studs? Side note with Cragars. Always check to make sure the shank on the lugnut is the proper length and doesn't...

    Aftermarket 17" Wheels for a 1969 Valiant

Dude, unwind just a touch. I don't think anybody was really getting upset that the OP wanted to put big wheels on his stock Val. Most of us have been down this road before and know there are options out there. Personally I haven't seen very low dollar K/H disc setups lately. Last time I went...

    Aftermarket 17" Wheels for a 1969 Valiant

The information that you posted is correct, but I will beg to differ with you on this statement. There is a significant difference in diameter and an increase in width with what is being proposed here. I own a 69 Valiant with a stock /6 and it came with 9" drums and 13" wheels. It's stopping...

    Aftermarket 17" Wheels for a 1969 Valiant

Kind of along the same lines, the stock brakes on a 69 Val are adequate, but add the extra leverage of a larger wheel and you'll be wishing for something bigger. (Brakes that is).
