    Limerick Transmission - WARNING

Nuff said! We're not far from each other, so you know the snow can be a lot or very little. My dad always used a chevy 2500 4x4 v8. Never let him down. The company bought brand new Ford's cause they got a deal. Out of the 3 trucks, only 1 lasted the winter. They promptly went back to...

    Limerick Transmission - WARNING

Reliable Transmission and Ford in the same sentence? Hmm that can't be right. We rarely see Ford trucks used for plows here. Mostly Chevy and Dodge... Riddler

    Can I narrow A body 8 3/4 housing 3"?

Yes of course it can be shortened and that would remove the left over perches. But expect to have to order custom axles. Are you planning to do this yourself or having a shop do it? Riddler

    Rear Axle yoke swap?

OK then I'll try the conversion joint 7260/1350. Worse case if I break it I can always update the yoke... Thanks guys, Riddler

    Rear Axle yoke swap?

Yes I know about the conversion joints but they would be a very weak joint as stated by the driveshaft shop. For the extra $70-150 for the 1350 yolk... It just seems like a smart investment. Riddler

    Rear Axle yoke swap?

I've got an 8 3/4" rear axle with 489 case. I'm getting ready to buy a driveshaft. My trans slip yoke has 1350 u-joints but the rear axle has 7260 u-joints. The driveshaft shop suggested swapping out the yoke on the 3rd member so that I have all 1350 u-joints. I was under the assumption...

    Rear end gear oil

You should add the Mopar additive to the 90 weight for the sure grip. It's available at the dealer. Riddler

    Engine cradle. Who has pics?

No one has used one? Guess everyone installs engine/trans from the top. Riddler

    Engine cradle. Who has pics?

I looking to make an engine cradle and a front engine lift point for the hoist. I don't want to lift my 6.1 hemi and t56 to install front above so my plans are to make a cradle and front lift point. I'm thinking of using wood to make the cradle and using some scrap metal to make a front life...

What aftermarket axles & ring/pinion are you running?

I'm using moser axles and a mopar pumpkin. Gears are Yukon I think... Riddler

    8 3/4 numbers?

The housing has no identifier. The pig will have the casting number molded in. It should also have a large "1, 2, 9 or X" on the center. Riddler

    T56 magnum install 69 Cuda

Lots of people. They are the same as the Rocky Mountain Dashes as the guy running Peaks Dashes is the same guy who did RMD. He had the old blueprints. Great job on the trans install. I'm in the process of doing the same with a T56 in a Duster. Riddler

Check out the interior parts for sale forum. Rocky Mountain is now called Peaks Dashes. They are making them again. Riddler

    Got my Keisler estimate

You can source the conversion parts cheaper. Pedals are $100 used for example, compared to the $350+ keisler wants. Riddler

finding a 8.25 rear for an A Body

I also have an 8 1/4" rear axle. Mine comes with leaf springs and is complete. 2.76 gear no sure grip. Mine is a BBP as it came out of a 1976 Duster. I'm located in Windsor, ON, Canada and can meet in Detroit, MI. Riddler

    Mopar 8 3/4 or Ford 9?

I won't need to weld spring pads as I have the RMS Street Linx kit which does away with the spring perches. I just found out DTS is like 10 minutes across the US border from me and they can build me one to my specs for a decent price. Riddler

    Mopar 8 3/4 or Ford 9?

Yeah, I'm leaning towards the 9" also. Some of the people have gotten back to me and they want $250-$500 for 8 3/4" rear axles. The parts for the Mopar rears are expensive as well. I have a Ford 9", so I'll just need to get a good center, some axles, narrowed down and then figure out what...

    Mopar 8 3/4 or Ford 9?

I'm just waiting to hear from a few people concerning some 8 3/4" rear ends that I've sent messages about. I have a 9" I got for $100. Not sure what it's from and I know the housing is the only good thing on it. That's why I'm debating on what to do. I guess I just need to sit back and...

    Mopar 8 3/4 or Ford 9?

I guess I thought about using the 8 3/4" rear end housing because I want to stay with mopar brakes. I have a 9" with a crappy center, so I'd have to purchase a new center anyway. If I can locate an 8 3/4" with decent center with suregrip then I'm golden, narrow up the rear, minitub, and then...

    Mopar 8 3/4 or Ford 9?

Yeah I'm not trying to finish this car ASAP. I'll be taking my time and making sure everything is done correctly. I didn't know the Ford Explorer is a 5 x 4.5" bolt pattern. If using those parts what housing ends would I need to buy? The 8.8" Ford ones? I've been thinking about a 8 3/4"...

    Mopar 8 3/4 or Ford 9?

OK lets leave the hater messages at the door. I'm building up my 76 Duster. The plan is to have a small block (360 stroked) and a 727. I'm working on planning out the chassis and suspension right now. I have an RMS Street Linx kit. Which means no more leaf springs. The plan is minitub or...
