My 67 came with an 8 3/4..It's a Formula S convertible and I bought it new. I don't believe the 66 S came that way. You might have a early build. They could have been using up stock. By the way I'm told the sure-grip 7 1/4 is a lot stronger then the peg leg.

When I bought my 67 (1967) they had 1 on the floor and 1 in the shop. I remember seeing more then a few around, they we're said to be nose heavy..drove like a 390 stang. I talked to the guy with the car in the shop and he was having drive line problems...rear I think. A friend had one and loved...
