Cast iron Borg Warner T-10 Value

I got a call yesterday from a friend asking about the early B body 4 speeds. He has a cast iron short shaft t-10, we think it's from a 62-63 B body. Is there any way to verify what it is? Does anyone know what the value is?

someone school me on my A833 for my swap Please

That sounds like the O/D version of the 833.The over drive 833's had the larger bearing retainer and you'll need to find a over drive bell housing to be able to use it. I have a o/d set up, I found the bell housing at Carlisle a few years back. Is yours a cast iron main case or aluminum? Cast...

    pg classic shifter rods

Hold on there Pilgrim, they aren't that shabby. The reverse does not fit out of the box, a little tweeking and it falls into place. The 1/2 and 3/4 are much thicker then my stock ones and mated to my comp plus with no problems (O/D trans). I have the stock reverse to use if there is any problem...

    What clutch to buy?

Try Phoenix friction materials, that's where I got mine. They make them for Luk and others. The disk is ceramic on one side and conventional on the other side. I went with a diaphragm pressure plate, I've never had much luck with B&B style. 205.00USD If you get a Borg and Beck make sure it has...

    Pedal to Z-Bar

Yeah, that would help..It's a 67 Barracuda with a 360. I'm using a 70 bell housing with a 10 1/2 inch clutch. The Z bar is a 70 too. I want to make up a new rod using heavy duty Heim joints. I've done this before and like the feel better then stock. I'm getting ready to drop in the new motor and...

3 and 4 gear not working

Check your 3/4 shift rod. It sounds like you've got a severe loss of continuity between the shifter and the trans!

    Hurst Comp plus

I did find a 4 digit code on the forward flat, 2083. This looks like it might fit except the shifter handle is too short.

    Hurst Comp plus

I was digging through my parts and came across this, The part # stamped on it is 512805. Does anyone know what body/trans it fits?

    318 bellhouse and flywheel?

I don't think so, all LA 318's are internally balanced. The 273 used a smaller diameter pressure plate and disk.

Whats a 4 speed fell like

In the hills I live in it's a much better feel to the car! It's fun to have the right gear for the next uphill turn. I have a auto in the car right now and that will be corrected this year...

    Passon Performance 5-speed

I talked to them at Carlisle, I'll load some pictures tomorrow. They have the case and most of the internals but are having trouble nailing down the deal on the rest. It's a good looking piece and when I win the lottery that will be top on my list..4295.00

    leaky bellhousing??

It's not a big deal if it's the input retainer seal. You do have to pull the trans and it's a beast but it's a 10 minute repair. Do the rear seal too, they are cheap enough. You might want to replace the throw out bearing at the same time. Any good trans shop should be able to do it in about 2...

Back Up Light Switch Engagement Conundrum

Welding the arm might do it but there is something going on thats not correct. Do you have the correct switch? There are 2 that I know of, a 2 post and a 3 post. I'm pretty sure they can't be interchanged, the contact arm won't work. This might be your problem.

Back Up Light Switch Engagement Conundrum

If you mean weld a blob on the switch, I don't think thats a good idea.

Inland vs Hurst shifter...what makes Hurst better?

I had a inland in my 67 from the factory, and it worked great then. After the first rebuild I had problems with first to second. I had the trans rebuilt and still had the problem. It was a very slow shift to make it work. I now have a Hurst and when I drop in the new motor it will be going in...

    a833od behind 383

Just a thought, I don't think they ever made a OD bellhousing for a big block. You might have had the front bearing retainer cut down to fit the bell housing input. Second, is this a aluminum O/D or the cast iron version? The cast iron is much stronger and is the one you should use.

    4-Speed Question

Look, take your 4 spd to Passon or Brewers and let them go through it. A healthy A-833 will take that motor no problem. I think the only differences in 833's are the input spline count and the gear ratios. I have yet to break one, but I have them gone through by a trusted builder. I also drive...

    4-Speed Question

Is this a 4 spd or a 3 spd?? The 4 spd cast iron case will be no problem. The aluminum O/D will be a problem. If it's a 3 spd, thats kind of iffy. They did put them behind 340's but 500 HP is a real stretch!

    flywheel balancing

10 1/2 inch clutchs and flywheel were used on 67-88 318's and steel crank 340's, 68,69,70 and 71's. Big blocks also used 10 1/2" flywheels on some of their builds. So look for Barracudas with 318's and 340's Darts, Dusters, Vailants, Demons, some pickup trucks (light duty 318's) any a body with...
