Early 318/360 magnums had the provisions for oiling through the block also fyi. More curious how low the compression will be with open chamber heads. Stock Magnum is supposed to be around 9 to 1 with stock closed chambers.

I used a stock 340 style on my 5.9 with a 360 car pan, seemed to fit fine with the mopar replacement main bolts.

Im using the stock serpentine belt setup also, do you know if a trimmed Magnum style dipstick will clear the windage tray?

Hey guys, getting ready to swap a stock Magnum serpentine setup into a 65 Dart and I was curious how the stock alternator is being regulated on a 5.2/5.9 from a mid 90s dodge ram. Would it still be externally regulated like the old cars?

Thank you! So what your saying is a 130 tooth La360 flywheel is "close enough" for a street/strip car?

Now I'm curious about what flywheel to use, being that the 5.9 mag is balanced differently then a La360. I would like to use a 10.5 inch clutch, and a standard car v8 bell housing. Being that the engine will be carbed instead of fuel injected, I'm hoping this will be an easier deal.

IF the castings are good you can use the stock ones. If they have a ton of miles, they are likely cracked between the seats.

The weak part about the magnum motors are that the heads are pretty much guaranteed to be cracked between the seats. If you used those aluminum heads on the 5.9 you would be pretty happy I think.

I had them grind a cam for a 5.2 magnum I put together awhile back. I have nothing but good things to say about them. Your Definatly going to need some longer pushrods though, I had to go with special length (.050 longer) comp ones that were on the pricey side. Adjustibe rockers would also be a...
