Doug/TTI Headers with Stock K to After K

Hi y'all, Has anyone used Doug/TTI headers in a stock K frame setup and had any issues with them fitting in the car when swapping to a HDK or QA1 etc? With all the companies making suspension-specific headers, I really don't want to have to buy new headers. I am looking to get a set of...

    dougs or tti headers

Small block get dougs, cheaper and the extra money isn't worth the 4-5 more hp

Ya mine hit box, ground bolt down. Hit idler arm, ground it and still hits sometimes. I gave up. Next time i go dougs

    Yep gotta get tti s

I will see if I can ask a friend for measurements from k fram to floor then lowest part of collector to floor. But I believe I was told on here it was around an inch or more

    Yep gotta get tti s

What k member are you using? Don't leave that out. Mine hit idler arm and drivers side frame. I fixed both but the idler are solution was to grind on the idler arm a tad bit

    Yep gotta get tti s

Well they do. Friend has them on his 4spd duster. Better ground clearance than tri and not as many issue when fitting them with stock suspension

    tti 1-3/4 step header

    tti headers

For Power and decent ground clearance TTI. For best fitment, ground clearance and less hassle and still good power over anything other than TTI, Dougs. but the power difference is 5 hp only and that's a free flowing TTI header that you have yet to hammer on if need be

    tti headers

If you want headers for clearance. I suggest the Dougs. They sit higher and less pain with clearance to steering parts. I have TTI and they hit in spots 700 dollar headers are not suppose to.

    tti header clearance problem

Get the Dougs and save yourself the trouble. They have more ground clearance and less fitment issues.

    tti header clearance problem

There are two different pitman arms. If you do not get MOOG brand parts, you will get the wrong one. I just changed my idler arm and SOOOOOOOO much better now.

    TTI Header issue

The collector on driver side is about half to an inch lower. I'm going to try something and see if it works. I asked a friend who had a similar issue.

    TTI Header issue

I purchased these headers not only because their performance, but because of their clearance. But now I have an issue with the clearance of my driver side header. The header collector hangs below my KEVKO oil pan and lower than the passenger side. I have SPOOL mounts. I have tried un-bolting...

    painting new headers.

Satin black thermal coat cost me 320 :( thermal chrome was 150 blah. Some have gotten VHT High heat header paint primer and black and it has worked. They usually bake it in their BBQ

    TTI Headers hitting Frame Rail

Somewhat figured it out. Cut about 1/4-3/8 inch off slip tube bottom and worked with mounts etc and its good now.

    TTI Headers hitting Frame Rail

This transmission and Engine were in the car before, but this is the first time I have had these headers in. I will check measurements. Future plans were to go aluminum front K frame from Hemi Denny soon anyways

    TTI Headers hitting Frame Rail

I know about the measurements. I will double check them, but even then I don't think it will matter because there is play in anything to adjust the engine besides the tail shaft. I've had this car since high school and I am 24, I have never been in an accident, but there was rear 1/4 damage when...

    TTI Headers hitting Frame Rail

Has anyone ever experienced this in a SPOOL K framed car? I also noticed it was kitting the steering box and torsion bar, but raising the engine and locking down the motor mounts fixed that, but when I go to full lock down the driver side header slip tube hits the frame rail to where it makes...

    ATTN TTi OWNERS! MUST READ!

Buying the headers uncoated is only good if you don't like the chrome looking ceramic. I bought mine used for 400 and it cost me 300 to have them coated satin ceramic. So it basically cost the same price as new TTI headers.

    Header recoating in SoCal

Is that thermal coating? I have some TTI headers that I purchased, but the guy decided to chrome them....so they are slightly rusting and the chrome looks like crap. Now I have to get them De-chromed and then thermal coated.
