My ‘66 Valiant has manual Kelsey Hayes disk brakes. I want to install a dual master cylinder. I was wondering if I should go to power assist or not. And then what size master cylinder bore.
Let me know what your experience is.

I like the four piston Kelsey-Hayes brakes, they have a nice progressive pedal feel without power assist. The pedal force can be high in panic stops (so selecting the right cylinder bore of master cylinder is important) and they have a reputation of fading a bit after numerous hard stops. If you...
Here's some with stainless steel pistons to solve the problem once and for all, at $110 ( with core) plus shipping seems decent to me.

I believe the brakes are the same, most '65 & '66 Barracuda & Valiants with V8 should have 10 inch drum brakes standard and with disc brakes being an option.
"I understand that air bags were intended to protect un-belted drivers, as were collapsible steering columns."
This is not true, air bags are designed to work WITH seat & shoulder belts.
The issue is that 99.9% of the other cars on the road have disc brakes and can stop much better than a car with drums.
Yes you can get by with drums, maybe even the small 9" ones, but not if you deal with any heavy traffic.
Really old cars had cable brakes but you wouldn't want to use them today.
