The door arm rests did not have ash trays. As the front arm rests worn out a plentiful (cheap) replacement was the rear arm rests with ash trays. The early A convertible ash trays in the rear side panels have been hard to find in good shape. I think I saw some repro ones on eBay.

It is so hard to determine what a fair market price is for these nice early A-bodies. What these cars sell for varies A LOT. Of course condition plays a big part too and how they drive can vary a significant amount. if I was selling this I’m not sure I could get $10,000 for it. I’ve seen a lot...

With the soft plastic window the proper way that is explained in the owners manual says to unzip it before lowering and lay it flat in the well. This avoids the window being folded. Of course I never have done that with any of my '66 Valiant converts. If the top is getting stiff it maybe dry...

I've never seen carpet on those panels on a Valiant but I can only say that for '66

The Dart has a longer wheel base & the extra length is all behind the front seats. So I would expect that the black one is an early Valiant and it does look like my Valiant ones.

Dart GT models came with bucket seats and center console was an option. I think buckets were optional on 270 models.

The two barrel cars had a fender emblem that said " 273 V eight" and the "charger" ( aka "Commando") said 273 four barrel. Does it really matter if it's a four barrel engine originally? I don't think it would have any effect on how much I would bid.

It's a neat car & would make a nice car to drive but no matter how rare or desire able its all about condition. This car has a lot of needs & to me sounds like a parts car!

The hardtop/ Barracuda vent windows come to a point at the top, the convertible metal frame has about a one inch flat portion, the only hard part that is different is the frame and all other parts, window & such, are the same.

I think the glass is the same but the rubber weather strip is specific to convertibles. I'm not sure if it's reproduced or not - you might need to save yours or find a used one.
