Now that everyone's sounded off about that. Why not with Gleaner combine engines? Industrial use engines. Has anyone thought about these?

So,,,,,,,,,,, are you saying that,,,,,,,,,, If I wanted to bore a 318 from a 3.910" bore to a 4.000" should be a cake walk and the " lil " teen can handle it????

Change the subject mildly if you'll allow. Guy was wanting to buy the diffy I have for my Valiant. Says he's got a rebuilt 273 that he's wanting to sell. What's it acutally worth? It runs & drives now. curious.

Better off turning a 360 into a 340. Be a whole lot easier, and less expensive

I did the same thing , but I had options on pistons. S I went with Silvolites. Btw. My CI was 350.96.

    Oh dear God! 318 stroker

I didn't have that issue. I used Silvolite Pistons and paid attention to wrist pin height

They used to produce a 3.000" stroke crank for the 5.9/360's. Some still have a few but won't turn loose.

I also wanted to build a 360/5.9 with a 3" stroke to see how badass that would be screaming down the road.

With all that wind blockage, I'm not surprised. 10,500 with an additional 12k in tow. Been better of with a semi set up.

Weight? dunno! I know I an '04 Jeep Grande Cherokee and I had to slow it down from 80mph. Illinois is the state. however . I think we're wandering off a bit. This isn't anything to do with a 318 build.
  16. Shorty Thompson

    Oh dear God! 318 stroker

Well. I'd say you were correct, considering the piston normally sits ,,,, what,,, .280" maybe,,,,,. And now they're flush with the top's of the pistons.

Really????? I got a 1991 F-350 crew cab and I have to keep a close eye on the speedo . It wants to run an breathe at 70mph.

They did. Bad thing about it was they didn't keep notes for the total amount cut off, otherwise I'd be able to just order the correct pushrods.

    Oh dear God! 318 stroker

I ran into 2 issues; # 1; The intake will not be a put and place bolt on. If they take off the block surface then they " have " to remove from the front & rear rails or bolting becomes almost impossible. # 2! ; Pushrods. I chose to go with adjustable 273's. Pushrods are now too long. So now I...

For what it's worth . I currently have a 1973 318 with a 360 crankshaft in it. You have to have the mains turned down from 360 to 318/340 specs. I had the block punched .030 over so now the correct cubes are 350.96. I suggest you pay special attention to your pistons. Wrist pin location can be...
