    No, I plan to use the old one. Yeah, they are uber pricey. I suspect an A/C shop can pressure-test it easy enough.

    I got it out, gripping it carefully with a wide plier and applying some testosterone. Looks just like what toplscuda posted above. I plan to use a little lube to ease reinstallation.

    Yep, that's where I'm at. Okay...tube offered a fair amount of resistance so I stopped pulling. I'll re-look at it differently, knowing how to extract it. Pushing it back in ought to be a treat. Thanks!
