I did end up putting my old shroud back on. Had to cut the bottom out of
it so it would slip down over the fan, no room to install it otherwise. Very, very
happy with the in town driving now.
Hey Tyler....I will keep an eye on the blades for cracks. The fan has 15,000 miles
on it now. I was running it with the old radiator and fan shroud. If it should start
to fail I will look for a solid steel fan.
Thanks all,
Tony
Those were the only fans that would fit because of the fan pulley being in the way of
running larger fans. I'm not cheap or stupid so get off my case please.
I never saw that coming from your original comment. Very nice!
That is a work of art. I read your complete thread and enjoyed every picture.
And yes, that is a good use for those fans..just don't use them for cooling.
Tony
I wanted to start my own thread on this topic instead of walking over one started by someone else.
After we installed the 22" 3 row Champion Radiator and electric fans we still had problems.
Well, the last couple of days I have been hard at it. After reading most all of the posts
in the...
I think I know that fan, and yes they move a lot of air. I have a spare
on the shelf that would probably be right at home on the 'Cuda...it has
the shroud attached to it.
Got the new Champion 22" radiator in with the electric fans. Seems to be working great.
My temps got up to 195 today in some stop and go traffic. Cruising at 55 mph they
stay around 185.
The fans come on at 185.
Ordered a Champion CC2374 22" 3-row core today for the 'Cuda after
viewing this thread.
Got it for $240.00 shipped...contact was Justin at 1-714-974-1650
Cools up to 550 hp
Will let you know how it works out after the holidays when we install it.
Will be using a pair of 10" electric...
Hi Herb
Just read the whole thread after talking to you today at Indy.
You're doing some good stuff there. I really like the shroud.
See you Saturday
Tony
If you have trouble getting the J bolt to hook over the vent just loosen
the nut on the bottom and back it off some to make the J bolt longer.
When you get it hung, just tighten the nut back up and it will draw the unit
up tight.
Hope this helps.
