Call it good. It should be fine unless you run really sloppy wheel bearings. :D

Is this enough space on my rear wheels? 18” wheels

I have 1/2 an inch with 40’s on 18 inch rims with no issues. It’s my daily driver, so it’s been tested well. Like mentioned above the short sidewall doesn’t move much.

Want to stay stock with 13" tires, but can't get them

Walmart online has lots of choices in 13’s Some as low as 40-50 bucks. Robot or human?

    show the white letters?

On my 69 Roadrunner I had Mickey Thompson raised white letter tires and MT 5 spoke wheels. You can bet those were white out. My dart has Nitto “rubber bands” so no room, plus it would look stupid.

    Tires...Tires...Tires?

I am running 245/40 series 18’s on the back, and 225/40 17’s up front on Ridler spokes with Nitto Neo Gen Z rated tires. (180mph continuous rated) The Neo Gen has a design with more rubber on the outer 1/3 of the tread surface. Very sticky tires, and surprising amount of traction in the rain.

    General Altima’s Tires

A few things you might need to know. Scalloped is also called cupping and can be caused by alignment issues, bad shocks or balance of the tires. Drifting can also be caused by alignment as well worn parts. I didn’t see any mention of possible worn lower control arm bushings. My Dart would darn...

After renewing/painting my Rallye Wheels, two flat tires.

And is why NOBODY touches ANYTHING on my car except to balance the tires after I put them on the rims myself. AND they even F that up sometimes.

Thanks buzz killer. LOL The red box has a paper inside it with specific reorder information.:D You think I'm stupid or what?

I like my anti tamper valves.

Yea it is. My youngest Son used to steal valve caps until I saw a 3lb can of them in his room one day. I pretty firmly impressed on him how F'd up it was, and then he felt really bad about it. I very seriously told him to go put them all back, and he had a look on his face that made me loose the...

I like my anti tamper valves.

I would have said valve stems, but it doesn't apply as there is one stem for 4 valves. Nice to know it makes it more of a pain for someone to screw with your valves and air. These are Gorilla brand stemless valves which are subsurface mount and the case holds the stem and lugs key. To check or...

70 Dart Front Wheel/Tire Size Question

I used to run 15x7 65 series on my Dart with a 215 tire and had zero issue's. They were 4.5 backspace. Oddly enough I have 225/40-17 with an 8 inch rim on the front now and they don't rub anywhere with the 4.5 backspace. Total tire height you can run will have a lot to do with your preferred...

72 duster wheel and tire fitment

This is what I did. put a flat bar, stick or whatever across the flat surface where the wheel mounts. Measure from the inner edge of the bar, stick or whatever to the leaf spring. Measure from the inner edge of the flat bar, stick or whatever to your inner wheel lip. (a string with a nut for a...

    Wheel Wednesday

Ridler 255/40 x 20's on the back, and 225/40 x 18's on the front. Stemless air valves and locking lug nuts.

    Wheel width question

I would go with 8's just because you can go with a wider tire later if you wish without changing rims again. A 235 tire is about 9.25 inches of tread contact width and I believe your wheel wells will take 255's IIRC.

Pro Tour guys. What tires r u runnin?

I can't fault your decisions on that one.:D I'm running 245/40-18 tires on 9.5 inch rims out back and 225/40-17's on 8 inchers up front. Tires are Nitto Neo Gen Extreme Performance front and back. Absolutely love them, even though the car wants to track ridges and cracks in the road a little...

    Tire brands and warranties

I ordered my tires from Wally World, picked them up and took them home. Then I put them on the rims myself and took the tires and rims down to another place and had them balanced, took them back home and put them on the car. Walmart employees don't touch my car ever. I'll be damned if some goofy...

    255-60's will fit on 15x7's on a 70 Swinger

I didn't have to deal with that because 73 doesn't have shocks either. If I remember, the 75 still has the bracket holes in the frame rails for the solid bumper brackets like the earlier cars had. That might save you some headaches if I remember that correctly.

    255-60's will fit on 15x7's on a 70 Swinger

I had 235/50-15 for awhile and had the chance to change all of it, so with a little apprehension about making too big a change leaning towards the Pro tour look I took a chance. The wheels are Ridler 695 Grey spoke 18x9.5 on the back and 17x8 fronts. I have 245/40-18 with a 5.5 inch backspace on...

    255-60's will fit on 15x7's on a 70 Swinger

I think they did since I could just barely get a 245/40-18 in there on my 73 Swinger and had to trim the lip and move my springs in 1/2 inch. On a hard left turn while going through a dip I get a light rub on the inner wheel well on the passenger side.

    BFG raised white letter

I have used that letter paint before in stick form and it worked really well, but you have to go over it again on a regular basis to keep them bright white. I suspect yours will turn brownish again after awhile.
