Red 1968 Barracuda Fastback at the Royal Oak Mi. estate sale.

It's a great car. Sure The discussion became: What it was worth? Doesn't mean I have to applaud if someone grossly way overpaid it.

Red 1968 Barracuda Fastback at the Royal Oak Mi. estate sale.

Depends on condition of body and documentation. But you have no idea of motor condition. So that will need to come apart. It came out for a reason, but you don't know why. Typically people don't take perfect running stuff apart. If it had numbers block, fender tag and buildsheet I think that...

    67-69 barracuda front tire width

It’s very close. Dependent on alignment, production tolerances, and past bodywork. Ive run 15x7 with 4.25 backspace and 225/60/15. 73 disc/spindles, offset upper bushings, poly strut bushings, rubber LCA bushings I’ve seen others try with 73 disk and they have rub. Not sure of their parts...

Reminds me of that member who bought a Duster same color and poured in all kinds of money to straighten it out. Then ended up selling it.

davescuda, please don't take my comment as anything towards you. The grocery store does not have an integrity meter. Nor should it. Choose item, pay for item, leave with item. Simple, straight up. ...It seems like if you are a seasoned careful buyer/seller in this hobby and stick to...

He might not have money issues... But he has integrity issues. Those are harder to make go away. And I've never seen a Will of Inheritance bequeath someone integrity.

    Ansen Small Block Valve Covers

I used them with the old grey MP metal core gaskets. They were great. Ran them 15 or so years until changed heads. Same gaskets whole time. But need to check the head valve cover rail is flat and doesn’t have casting flaws/divots.

Never seen it around here in So Cal. I know someone that sees the Autotopia media guy regularly at the shop he works at. He's the same media guy that got all jacked up in the Mercury Comet no brakes rear end deal.

So you communicate your expectations with them up front? And a budget? Sounds smart. Do you plan on delivering them a shell and get back a painted shell? Then you do all the assembly and component detail work?

sounds like you’ve made your decision that works for you. The communication effort ahead of time is great. And location is helpful to monitor things. I’m going by results. If you read what I write, I acknowledged the painted underside could be owner preference. But the other stuff is just...

This Muscle Car Restorations restored California AAR had a $300K resto bill in 2008 I see platings and metal treatments that are incorrect. Front Suspension mostly painted all grey whether it was cast, forged, stamped… bottom of radiator support should have some blackout. PVC and grommet should...

Would not go to MCR. Saw a resto bill and work done by them on a AAR that had lots of incorrect stuff. The price did not reflect the quality. I believe someone here on FABO had a car done by MCR and was not impressed.

Julius was in Los Angeles area. But now in Texas. Close friend for 30+ years. He does cars much quicker than Worman. I do know a guy that got a 69 Hemi RR conv done and GYC and brought it to a show next to a Hemi conv that Julius did and that owner said he should have gone to Julius. People...

Capturing a piece of early 70s Trans Am mojo...what can be done?

Feel similar about my 68 Notchback. I was just looking for a Mopar to replace my Little Old Lady from Santa Monica 67 Chevy II 2dr post six cly car. In 1993, I was just looking for a V-8 Mopar with good drivetrain. This notchback popped up with bent left bumper, grille and fender. Would rather...

Capturing a piece of early 70s Trans Am mojo...what can be done?

All 4 manufactures were in Trans Am in 1970. And many of their sub brands too: Chevy, Ford, Pontiac, Dodge, Plymouth, AMC. But in 1971, they all bailed except AMC. The economy in 1971 took a downturn and racing budgets were being cut. I'm sure SCCA has some blame too as they weren't really...

Capturing a piece of early 70s Trans Am mojo...what can be done?

Chrysler was one of the first into Trans Am in 1966 with the Barracuda and Dart. Ford put in a bigger factory effort and won the championship. But after that year, they dropped out. They focused money on Nascar and Drag Racing. There were some privateer's Ron Grable who built his car out of a...

How do you like those seats? What brand and model? I have Procar Elite seats and they don't hold me in very good at track. I don't think the smooth vinyl helps either.
