    Edelbrock LD340 WTH?!?!?

I'm seeing typical comparable condition LD340 at $100 more than RPM's. I believe there's more opportunity to get a RPM for a greater difference with patience. And the LD340's for sale are generally in worse shape than the RPM (30-40 years newer) Also having the part number on the LD340 seem to...

    Edelbrock LD340 WTH?!?!?

RPM 7176 looks very similar. Just ports arrangement is flipped top to bottom. Both seem to have the same amount of stock resemblance to me.

    Edelbrock LD340 WTH?!?!?

They don't out perform all the others. There's a bunch of old school hype about them. The Edelbrock Air Gap outperforms it. And the Edelbrock RPM matches it. But the LD340 will outperform those 3 other manifolds you have pictured. That's not saying much. People get off on them because some...

    Disappointing dyno results

I’m thinking that 50 year old AVS carb may be suspect if there’s dyno repeatability issues I know it was rebuilt by woodruff. But what about the throttle shafts, bore wear and other things. Some stuff just doesn’t rebuild 100% like brand new out of the box. Would have like to seen known good...

I believe the dropped cylinder was a burnt plug wire under a shielded boot of some sort. That was fixed the second day.

    Disappointing dyno results

AVS strip kits are long discontinued and I doubt many shops have those parts laying around since most people don't build performance engine with those OE carbs. The jets from an AFB do interchange though. But the 3-step rods and springs are unique to AVS’s. BTW, 1968 AVS's have the idle...

Emissions Control System ID help, 1971 Duster 340

Wow, you lucked out. Steve Cabral's 71 340 4spd Duster is an N95 car. Follow everything you see here. One of (if not THE) the most correct restored 71's around.. and it's a N95 car. Steve's great guy, and goes by steve70 on Moparts. It looks like it has the passenger cowl mounted...

Emissions Control System ID help, 1971 Duster 340

This is a N95 Automatic non A/C car owned by GY3 71 Demon talked about in this thread here: 1971 340 Restoration reference photos Not sure what applies here to an N95 4-speed car. Notice the speed sensor that is tapped into the speedo cable in picture #3 under the master cylinder.

Emissions Control System ID help, 1971 Duster 340

I bet this 71 Demon is N95. It’s got a 1971 original issue California license plate in it. Not sure what drivetrain combo it is though. He might have pulled off any remaining smog stuff too. https://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/threads/here-we-go-again-demon-style.527410/

Not 100% sure on 4speed The 80k mile N95 340 Demon car that I based my auto info was not messed with very original. I think 2 owner car. Have you read through the 1971 Repair Manual? There’s a special emissions section

Is your car and auto or 4spd ? Looks like it’s not A/C And 71 A-body, 340, auto, N95 will have a bunch more stuff than just the Vapor return line (a 50-state item in 1971) For an automatic car: At least- -vacuum control module on the passenger cowl with vacuum and electrical hook up -Speed...

    Is anyone running a 4425S Carter on a 68 340 engine?

All 1968 AVS’s have one screw and lead capped base plate screws. Sometimes you can pull the caps off and adjust the screws. I couldn’t with mine. 1968 engines with AVS’s on 340, 383, and 440 had them. 1969, 1970, and 1971 AVS’s have two exposed adjuster needles in the baseplate. I had a 4425...

Air Gap vs. M1 Single Plane For Stroker

what intake and carb are you running in that ? I have smaller cam in my 416, with M1 single plane and 750 BG silver claw carb. Great throttle response. Don’t know if that’s carb or intake or both. I have a RPM intake. Never courage to try it when current setup seems pretty good.

What’s the value of this ??

Its not just a early B-body core. it’s a 69 440HP automatic with A/C carb. not a low performance C-body core or less desirable car. but not a 4-speed car or non A/C car.

What’s the value of this ??

mcodecuda just showed what this particular carb number sells for in real life. Not advertised asking price. The “ones that sell for big bucks” are different numbers, harder to find, and/or for more expensive cars. OR they are completely re-plated, re-bushed. Which costs and additional $200+...

What carb for my 340 build?

Seems like the "best" current bolt-on EFI's are still iffy. Friend works in high end shop that uses EFI on most builds. Last one was simple no-brainer build. Way overkill engine shop and Holley Sniper was not right on dyno. Holley was even present. Holley sends out another new unit and it...

Close as you will come to getting an OEM fuel sender..

Watch the sock to tube connection on these aftermarket senders. In 8 years mine was completely loose. And I noticed a brand new one had glue on the connection. Can’t remember if mine did originally. The sock connection is stepped inside. It fits 5/16 and 1/2”. Not sure if the OE sock is like...
