Mopar "Recall Wheels" - These New Wheels Look Pretty Close...

That's the same exact backspacing as factory 15x7 rallye and cop car rims. @HenryWalter how close is the clearance between the tire and the front lower fender lip as shown below?: ... just wondering if a 225/60/15 is a possibility with your particular setup.

    Wheel Size for 1968 Barracuda

If you are going with 225/60/15 in front do it on a 15x7 rim with 4.25 or 4.5 backspacing. Or a 15x6 rim and try to get 4.25" backspacing. But I think many15x6's will be 4" backspacing.

    Wheel Size for 1968 Barracuda

Yes, it will help. But with 15" rims there is a max backspacing before the inside rim lip hits the upper control arm. You have small bolt front disks, correct? What spindle are you running with what brake kit? Factory small bolt disks have a narrower front track. And may put the rim just...

    Wheel Size for 1968 Barracuda

I’ve had 245/60/15 with 15x7 and small bolt pattern axles in the rear of my 68 Barracuda coupe with 100% OE untouched quarter panels My car had original rear leaf springs and was not jacked up in any means. I should ok 255/60/15 with 15x7 with 4.25” backspace. Same with 15x8 4.5” backspace...

18x8.5 +30 offset all around on 72 duster?

You can also run a 68-70 B-body rear end and move the spring saddles in 1/2" on both sides. That would also get you a rear 1.5" wider on both sides. Much cheaper that large bolt A-body rears. Would be good idea since you are moving spring saddles at that point, to move the spring 1/2" more...

68 Barracuda. How Big Can I Go? Rim and Tire?

Are the rear fender lips rolled? On my 68, I got 245/50/15 on 15x8 with 4.5 backspacing with small bolt axles (re-drilled lbp) on stock 40 year 340 leaf springs. No lip rollig or trimming.

    225-70-14 on Rally Wheels

That's a 26.4" diameter tire. I think it's too tall. Search that size in the FABO search function and you might get some results of past experience I had those same 14x5.5 rallyes on my Barracuda when I got it. It had 235/60/14 (25.4" dia) and they were a close fit.

Mancini Racing Super Stock Rear Wheel Size.

I actually don't think any Mancini's work there? I'm not sure they are part of the ownership now. I'd guess it's whatever the NHRA max tire rule in that class for whatever particular year that picture was taken.

    235/60/15 on front of duster?

if the 15x7 are 4.5” backspace you mentioned, you should have similar clearance as kerndog. The 15x6.5 rallye’s are factory rims on mid-late 70’s B-bodies. Never been reproduced.

    235/60/15 on front of duster?

IF the 15x7’s are really 4.5” backspace, the 225/60/15 is the safest choice. The 4.5” vs. 4.25” backspace flat out gives you .25” more clearance. Otherwise 235/60/15 is tempting on the 15x7 -4.5”. Does the 73 duster have a lower front fender support bar (usually attaches to hole on side bumper...

    Wheel and Tire Help

Those Crager 390C 15x7 have 3.5" backspace. A factory Mopar 15x7 rim is 4.25" backspace that will fit your brakes and suspension. So the Crager will push you tires out toward the fender lip 3/4"... that's not good. The most narrow 70 series 15" common tire I found was a 195/70/15 (7.7"...

    15x8 w/3.75" backspace question

In the front with 15x7 with 3.75" backspacing you'll need 205/60/15 or maybe 215/60/15 will fit, but close on a 67-69 Barracuda Since the rear is up with SS springs, it's you're call if wheels are going to hit some big dip and rub the outer wheel lips. Some SS spring set different than others...

    15x8 w/3.75" backspace question

What size tire? 3.75 isn’t the best backspace for a stock A-body rear with large bolt axles with thicker axle flanges. Especially with 15x8 rims. Is the rear end jacked up at all? at stock height, 4.25” rear backspace on a 15x7 with 245/60/15 275/60/15 on a 15x8 with 4.5” backspace. Might...

    275/60/15 is a perfect fit

Yes. One inch is plenty room between the tire and leafs. Looks like there is zero room between the tire and the quarter panel if it hit a dip in the road. Try 15mm even then 10 mm spacer. Even little leaf spring rubbing in the worst case scenario doesn't cut a tire and you don't see it. The...

So you are looking for a specific size. 225/60/15 or 235/60/60 correct ? They used to make V-rated stuff in those sizes, specifically 225/60/15 for 80’s and early 90’s Police and Highway Patrol car fleets. Diplomat, Mustang, Crown Vic, and Impala cop cars of that era all used that size...
