Agree with changing the oil, and adding oil to all cylinders. Crank with no spark to build up oil pressure before you fire it. And by all means make sure you have fresh CLEAN fuel.

Guys, be clear that you are talking about the "Reluctor Coil Pickup" not the reluctor.

Agree with the coil being the first place to look into.

That might be a bit too much for an automatic for mostly street use. You might look at something with just a little bit less duration, the lift is spot on. Make sure you break it in properly and use Synthetic oil to protect it.

What did you find out about the pushrods? That is a large amount of oil on the top of the rockers...........

If your compression is good, I would suspect a valve guide/seal.

To answer your questions, yes they made several timing gear covers. The one you have (timing mark on driver's side) is the correct one to achieve your goal. As stated before, all you need to do is buy an aluminum (1970 or later) Water Pump. The only thing you did not mention is your radiator...

If you have everything installed correctly, I would take everything off and give them a good oil soaking (rockers/shafts) since everything is new. Then reinstall and check them again.

Did you have to modify anything for the column shifter? They list is as a no go with column. Can you share a pic of how close it is? Also, is it true that you must use a mini starter? Thanks
