I have never seen a tranny cooler mounted with the fittings on top. Is there a reason for this?

not off hand but maybe you could put a want add for a factory 8.25 driveshaft

you will need to have the driveshaft shortened

If you have re drilled axles you will need the factory small bolt 10x1.75 brake parts along with re drilled small bolt drums

just loosen the console screws in the glove box and at the front sides and move the console forward. The slot for the screw is pretty long so you could also move the console ahead a little and try the screw in a different part of the slot.

That or maybe a longer front segment leaf from something else? Maybe the pin moved or spring seats drilled?

Yes for sure. You may end up with a too long of driveshaft tho. We will have to wait to see till the new leafs are in.

the moon shape is so you don't need converter weights. If the converter does have weights by chance they will be at the opposite of the moon

If you have the clips in I think you are fine. Have you test driven it yet? It will vibrate like a mo fo if something's not right...
