    Also the "truck" Dana has no provision for a bolt on pinion snubber. Probably not much of a concern in a race car with other than stock leaf spring suspension.

Quite a few years ago when I installed a Lakewood housing in my '73 Duster, my Z bar ( I guess that's what you're calling a swing arm) was binding because the mounting point for the ball stud was lower on the Lakewood housing than the mounting point...

    Sorry, but I have to pretty much agree with grumpus on this one. While certainly anything will break under the right circumstances, a correctly set up Dana will not be something you have to worry about especially with a 416. You will not break it.
