Didn't get the stripes on, but got it all cleaned up and outside. I am going to use the turbine wheels on it. Those are the fronts. Just wanted to see how they looked.

Thanks! It's a 73. Has a 72 taillight panel. New trunk floor, drop offs, both 1/4s, rockers and interior floor pan. Complete brand new Legenary interior. New drivetrain, brakes, fuel system and suspension. 318 that's been freshened. Maybe 2 hours run time on it. mild head porting, 340 cam...

    Duster side stripes

I think its turning out nicely. It's not perfect, but extremely presentable. I agree, no callouts. This is 1500 and compound. I still have dvrs quarter and roof to buff. All said and complete in thinking 15k. Pretty much everything is new in the car and I think it will be a fair price.

    Duster side stripes

These are the stripes I got only with 340. The blue car is without the callout added.

    Duster side stripes

I'm about to put on my side stripes on my 73 duster. They came with 340 callouts. It's a 318 car. Would you install it with or without the 340 callouts? It doesn't matter to me either way. I will be selling the car after I finish it. What are your thoughts?

70 plum crazy vs 2018 plum crazy paint

I really like the TCP clear. I used it on my 97 when I painted it 3years ago. Buffed it after I painted it and haven't touched it since. Shines beautiful. I did the engine bay and door jams of the Duster using the 33% solids clear. I'm doing the trunk area this week and they had just enough...

70 plum crazy vs 2018 plum crazy paint

Is the 70 plum crazy the same as the new plum crazy color? Just curious, are they both the same paint code and/or paint formula? I went to get paint mixed at Napa today and he said they cant get some of the pigments to mix it anymore. I think I may need to get paint mixed elsewhere if its different.

Dorman 42408 : Round Headlamp Retaining Ring For 7 In.

I drilled the spot weld off the tabs not needed and re-welded the tab where it needed to go. That's how I got mine to work.

    73 Duster factory trunk paint

I thought so. Someone must have stripped it down at some point in its life and painted it black. It'll be color soon enough!

    73 Duster factory trunk paint

Did Plymouth paint the inside of the 73 Dusters trunks the body color still? I'm trying to figure out what is going on with my trunk. Car was red from factory, but every where in the truck is black. It looks factory to me.

72 Duster trunk panel pictures needed.

Can anyone take some pictures of a 72 Duster inner trunk panel area? I need the portion where the tail lights mount to the rear pan. How they tie In With the corners and trunk supports. My duster doesn't have any of them and I'm in the process of replacing all the trunk sheet metal. Thank you

    Fiberglass hood and hinges

Yeah, I'm not sure who makes the hood, all I know it sucked to try to align. Tore up my fresh paint on the engine compartment. I figured there has to be another way to get it to work. Maybe I can track down some hinge springs for it.

    Fiberglass hood and hinges

I have a 6 pack fiberglass hood on my 73 Duster. I tried to use the factory hinges with the springs removed. I could not get it to line up at all. Now I just lift it off when I work on the car. What do/how do you mount a bolt on hood and get it to line up. I am thinking of just pinning a 4...

    Patch, or Replace inner fenders?

I would replace the inner panels. I have done patch jobs and by the time you cut, fit, weld, grind, body filler...... faster, easier and cleaner just to replace them. I have learned from this experience. My $.02 Good luck

    Trouble Spraying High Build Primer

I just sprayed a high build 2k primer last night using the HF purple gun. I did not reduce, but did tighten the fan to 3-4", got close to the panel and slowed down. It works, just gotta finagle the gun a bit.

    How much paint?

I would get another quart of base. I would rather have it and use it. My last Dart i painted was light frost green and it took almost a full gallon to paint it, pre mixed.

    Glad to be alive!

In high school, i had a right front tire blow out on my P/U. Threw me right into a ditch. If i recall i was only going around 40 mph. Scared me to death. Ever since then, i replace my tires sooner than needed.

75 Dart front clip to 69 Cuda

All of that metal is reproduced now. Safetcap makes the frame rails that go over the existing. For me, I will notdo a swap like that again. Too much work to use old metal cutting it from one car to another. I understand its more costly, but it might be easier in the long run.

    DIY paint booth fan question

Overspray goes out the window with the fan. I use low VOC paint. That is all that's allowed to be sold in Delaware. I get my supplies from Napa.

    DIY paint booth fan question

I have a 2 car garrage that i do my paint and body work in. I have a window in the back wall and a passage door with a storm door that i open the window on it. Plug Weld Floor Pans?

I would NOT trust a panel bonding adhesive on a structural component at all. Small patch panels, sure. But for a structured component on a car, never. I've seen floors and quarters that were screwed/rivoted on actually flex when the car is jacked up. Now i do know the bonding adhesive are...

    72 Duster tail panel on a 73

Thank you all very much! I do appreciate the information you gave me. With all the extremely horrible work the P O did to the car, I just fear that everything under his bondo and paint is sheet metal screws holding it on like the way the quarters and floor were. Thank you, I appreciate your help!

    72 Duster tail panel on a 73

So I have a 73 Duster and the P/O a 72 Duster tail panel on it. I have the 72 lights already, but I need the mounts for them and the corner supports. Should I change it back to the 73 or continue with the 72 style. I'll need to change the bumper either way, kinda wonder what's needed to...
