Lets hear your suggestions for a winch for a car trailer.

Here's my addition to a thread from a few months ago. I welded a trailer stake pocket, center front, and made a bracket for the winch that "curled" over and fit into the pocket . It was secure by the curl over the end, into pocket, pin to hold it in. It was removable to keep outta weather, and...

I have a spring loaded drain screws into bottom of the tank, that opens when pressure is low, coupla lbs. You can hear it hiss at fire up till it gets a coupla lbs pressure, then it closes. Now and then it'll surprise you by releasing when least expected. I try to drain the system low points...

Black and Decker Valve Resurfacer Repair

Lotta those look like Sioux which are diff dia.than BD Think I used helicoils on sioux stones in some cases. You'll be doing 5 angle grinds in no time. The stone holders, I call arbors, just drill out to a suitable valve guide OD, then size ID to Sioux pilots OD, - then helicoils Sioux stones to...

If you got the hand-pump unit, don't let any (brake) fluid get in the pump, lost my first one by setting it down wrong, not realizing it, the piston fused to the barrel till next use, the handle broke, trying to pump it. Beware

Mityvac MT7300 -- anyone ever use one?

Marine services use a similar device, there often isn't enuff room to easily get a drain pan under the oil pan in a boat with twins. Get the oil good and hot, low viscosity, then suck away, - you too, - bring a few beverages, it takes a while. lol The brake tool works great if you seal the...

    Mighty-Vac?

I have a plastic one, love it, Don't let fluid get in the pump under any circumstances, clean well if you do . Put Teflon tape on bleeder threads to prevent air sucking past the threads. Leave bleeder closed, pump 15 - 20*, open bleeder, close at 5ish, repeat , repeat . . . Good luck .

    What is this used for?

Itsa stud remover. The tube goes over the stud, the wedge piece goes sideways (one way to tighten, other way to remove) thru the hole, and tightens against the stud as the tube is rotated by the ratchet/breaker. Where's toolman when you need him !

Which lift is preferred (2 post or 4 post)?

I have had them all, single post, front/back post, 4 post, overhead cable 2 post, across floor 2 post. My final choice is a 2 post across floor cable as the most versatile for me, and haven't regretted the choice in 20 yrs now . Walking over/across/around a 4 post gets old real fast .
