My son's got offset, minitubs, 2 1/2 beside the tank out between the frame and spring, back in, and the mounts/tailpipes are about an inch from stock location. He did say " if I could do it again" - but no rattles.

    tight fitting header recommendation

Our 1962 fenderwells, we just capped the collector, then drilled a 2 1/2 inch ( 3" now)hole on the side of the collector the size exhaust pipe to be used, went sorta straight in and hung about 90* ish to the mufflers. At strip just undid 3 bolts, put on extensions and threw the cap in the...

Out the proper tips to keep that distinctive Mopar sound. If you don't get the exhaust past the rear bumper, your going to wonder why there are little black acid pits in the chrome of the bumper, that needs wiping off after every drive. jmo

    Shorty Headers

I have had the pleasure of installing lotsa headers, I can tell you the ****-faced grin on every face that came back after a test drive, never complained once . Then they open the headers, and the grin gets huge .

    Shorty Headers

If engine access is you're concern, what's to access down the side of the block below the ports, with shorties winding back and forth you can't even see the side of the block. People act like you take headers off every week. I raced for years, took heads off over the fender, loose headers, long...

No Kinek holds the pkgs on the US side of the border, you skip across the border, pick up pkgs at US warehouse, bring pkgs back to border crossing Customs, go inside, pay taxes, go home. The Seawings shipper is "bonded", picks up in Blaine, brings to Victoria Airport in "bond?", supplies the...

My ferry fare is over $300 round trip, and 2 hr drive each way. I often accumulate a whole buncha sale stuff over a month, sometimes longer for Xtra charge. For you maybe a long drive, or short flight, rent a car/trailer. I have saved Soo much $$$, and the wife's real lucky in the Casinos. The...

Lotta suppliers ship free in lower states, that gets the item to my shippers address in Blaine WA. free. Then each pkg was $15 - 18, landed in Victoria B.C. Then I paid the sales taxes to Customs, - done.

Installing headers -- While engine pulled or after re-installed?

My preference is lay the headers where they belong, with the plastic bags covering everything up to the flange, as best possible (ceramic), lower the engine without Bell etc. Sit the engine on its mounts with suitable spacer between pan/steering gear to hold it up, all bolts in but loose. Use a...

Installing headers -- While engine pulled or after re-installed?

I haven't installed anything but Doug's since TTI rust issues early 2000. The last 1/2 dozen, didn't have to ding one of them. I've learned the engine will shift around quite a bit by loosening ALL the motor mount bolts and getting the engine where it's supposed to be, to help. I also don't...

    Doug's D453-ss

I cant speak to the SS, but I was TTI distributor for a while, the rust issues killed TTI, and trying to get warranty across the border, I essentially gave big cash refunds OR replaced them with Doug's, - no charge, then fire saled used TTIs for cheap. I have never regretted the change-over to...

If you took the time to file the flanges straight, take off the hills, fill the valleys of those old headers, you can use cheap old Mr Gaskets, and likely never have a gskt leak again .

    Doug’s or tti headers

Don't ding the header . Wrap a ratchet strap around the collector and trans, being careful not to trap anything, and cinch it up as nec to bend enuff to gain clearance. Sometimes a fencepost up the collector works as a suitable lever . Cheers .
