You have two of the same springs one on the top of the shoes... There should be one of each spring on the top of the brake... Each side should have one blue spring (long) and one of the other spring (short)... The star wheel is backwards on one side, the "star" should be toward the rear and...

I've known people that have tack welded the studs in with no problems...

Remove the center nut for the wheel bearings, then the whole hub will just come off with the tire and you can access it from the back better...

Tack weld the studs from the back... I would use at least two tacks per stud...

Put it on a rotisserie and spin it until the lock falls out.... :lol: When I did tires we used to find them in the glove box 90% of the time....

Can you clamp a set of vise grips on it real tight, then use channel locks to twist the vise grips off with the locking lug nut???

sometimes the tires are wider than the depth of the wheel well... I had that issue with my daily driver Barracudas back in the day and I wasn't running that wide of tire... Just what came on my stock small block cars (273/318)...

Here's an alternative spare...

Cut it in half and count the rings...

Rotate... Put the smaller tire on a front, and then one of the good front ones on the rear.... That way you have two tires the same size on each side of the axle and the front are free to spin as needed... Problem solved if you are worried about your sure grip...

That's how we were able to get one off my son's GTO when we lost the wheel lock...

Have you tried to put a vise grips on it, then use a crescent wrench to turn the vise grips???

The general rule of thumb for thread engagement is 1 1/2 times the diameter of the threads... Example: a 1/2" thread times 1.5 is 3/4". So you should try to get around 3/4" of thread depth between the lugs and the nuts, and still have the bolt seating on the face of the rim... How...

You may want to consider changing them to all right hand thread... Also a good impact wrench like Ingersoll Rand may be able to break them off while the wheels are off the ground...
