My brown 72 looked like that too but not sure about the washer or the eyebrows @ the lca mount holes. My black 72 340 3 speed duster has the washer and the eye brows but has a closed bottom k and torque boxes.

My brown 72 I just sold had the 67 to 72 mounts with the open bottom k frame...it was a late 72 maybe even the very last one. It was a 318 with ac and has 892/893 torsion bars too and called for them on the build sheet.

my 70 duster is manual steering from the factory and has no bearing at the bottom of the column,just that plastic thing that does nothing.

The only time that bearing is necessary is with a split shaft,like in 4x4 trucks or maybe something with a lot of shaft outside the column.

I've had one break with me sitting in the driver seat just got back from a hell ride and I'd still use that one if its a 340 bar.

I think yours (op)are fine the way they are. I run them on several of my cars and trucks and like them better than the snubber mainly because they don't beat the crap out of the underside of my cars....really can't tell a difference in performance between the snubber and bars and I do track and...

i have had 1 car with no threads left and still on the bump stops,71 demon and i tried to move it a flat and that put the 6 or 9 way down past the opening for the adjustment block i even thought maybe someone heated them to drop the car.and it maybe that the only ones i've had were /6 bars.

yeah with the small bars you'll get a lot more lift in the front end on punch...but you'll also scrape the road with your headers more.

i always jam my finger in a hole and feel for pits. ..maybe take an air nozzle and blow it out real good first then stick a finger in.

if it has the key release that looks like 71 and up a,b,e,and even trucks the collar will innerchange. good stuff.

you have to use a 73 up k frame...the bar goes through the k frame,and you'll need a set of 73 & up lcas with the tabs on em.

is he using stock 7/16 studs?

I had some once that hung down further than a,b and e....where the shocks bolt on.i don't remember what it was they came off of....pretty sure it was a c body though....maybe a wagon.

i just put some on my demon(1981&1982)and had to put 2"lowering blocks on it....looked like i had air shocks pumped all tha way up.they were bought 8 years ago...also they have jrs on em.

i put grease on em and pushed em on with my hands,it wasn't easy but they went on.i will use the rubber boots from now on...

some have lower shock mounts than others,i had some off a c body or a wagon some years ago and the shock mounts hung down maybe 2" further that regular a and b bodies...

i think its supposed to strenthen the lower control arm mount....i noticed it a long time ago on 70 and up cars mostly sway bar cars.my 70 318 has one and its factory but it also hs a z-bar mount welded to the frame with under coating.weird wild stuff!

the rockford 180 is when you back up fast press the brake to get your front tires sliding and slide around and get it in drive or first mid spin and then haulass!

in my experiance manual steering cars have a smaller turning radius than power cars.i dont think ps cars reach the stops for some reason.i wood get some h.p and a posi and do it the right way...
