    Metal Building/ Garage…

Thank you. I need to dig a trench line about 150 feet and run some power. 2” conduit is about 450 bucks, or $30 a 10 foot stick of that grey stuff. I’ll dig the trench and bury it all the same day when I get the conduit. I know there is 2 water lines that go to my well tank and my house, I...

    Best valve spring tester?

Don’t they make one to test the spring rate while it’s installed? I think I was told by my engine builder to check the spring rate on my 408 that has a solid roller… keep track of the rate when I first get it and as I drive it, check the rate and take note. As the springs get weaker, I must...

I’m out in the country away from everyone so I’m not as worried about permits. Nothin I’ve done out here has been permitted.

    Metal Building/ Garage…

Wow. That’s very nice. And a great price. Less expensive than what I paid here in commiefornia. I’ll be adding a 100amp sub panel from my house. I need to trench over about 150 feet, I’ll use my little Kubota BX23S, little backhoe. The plan is to use 2” conduit. That **** is $30 bucks a 10...

    Metal Building/ Garage…

So I had that done a few years ago. At the time it was about 12,000 for everything. The loads of base rock, the rental for the compactors, all materials, rebar, forms etc etc and the concrete crew/finishers I hired. I rented a pump guy also, he was a grand. It was 38 yards, 4 trucks came out at...

    Metal Building/ Garage…

Thank you sir. Are you sittin down? LOL Total price for the building with lean to, was $35,125. I pretty much went with every option available. -heavier gauge steel for the frame(12ga) and siding (26ga) -the larger windows 30x53 -fully insulated -vertical side paneling which gives you 2...

    Metal Building/ Garage…

It’s sounding like 2 doors may be better after all. They framed my slab up all in 2 days. And did one poor on the 3rd day.

    Metal Building/ Garage…

Unfortunately they can’t make two 12 foot wide doors fit on the 27 foot wide framing as they would interfere with the knee braces that you see on the end of the roof going to the legs. So I’m fine with one 10 foot and one 12 foot wide door I guess. I know some of you mention to frame out the...

    Metal Building/ Garage…

Yea that looks very nice. I mainly wanted the lean to just so I could park my dump trailer or future gooseneck flat deck trailer under there. Anything really to keep it out of the hot sun most of the day.

    Metal Building/ Garage…

I’d like to use it as a typical hobby shop, work area. Put my tool boxes in there, a work bench, definitely probably a lift so I can stack or store 2 cars.

    Metal Building/ Garage…

To be honest I’m not sure what kind of truss they use. Probably something similar to what I have here: This is a 20x25x12 I had installed 3 years ago on railroad ties, gravel floor. Pretty soon I’m gonna concrete the inside. This was just so I had a place to keep my tractor out of the elements...

    Metal Building/ Garage…

Thinking about it more, I may be okay with the 2 doors. I’m not much of a framer. I’m sure I could find a local contractor. I’ll look into some larger doors and see what they might require to install.

    Metal Building/ Garage…

About 4 years ago, I had this slab poured. I thought a raised perimeter wall was a good idea at the time, I was gonna stick frame it. There were some mistakes during the build, I shoulda went with standard sizing, and shoulda had plans for the exact building and layout I wanted. I figured all...

    Blasting media question

Yes. You’ll be fine with crushed glass. Use it up.

    Blasting media question

I mix media. Plastic is good for paint removal, glass for aluminum, and aluminum oxide for rusty metal. You’ll be fine to use what’s in there. I use a smorgasbord of media sometimes, to “freshen up” stuff that’s getting dull. Run it.

    Toolbox replacement time. Suggestions?

I am very impressed with the Harbor Freight US General. Unfortunately I missed the sale and paid full price, but I needed a box and I was not going to wait. I was done waiting for a sale. Here’s the 72” I put a butcher block on top, not shown.

Planning a shop build, any suggestions?

I made some mistakes on my 27x29 but the next one will be better. I don’t have a building on it yet. Ran outa money. lol So I just throw up an easy up and work under that. Maybe I’ll just finance a metal building company to put one up. I dunno.
