In most cases, if you want to spend less cash stick with what it had. Was it already an Auto or a Manual trans? If auto it would have a push button shifter or if manual it would have a 3 on the column shifter if it has not been modified.

You can make what you want. If you can get an older 2-bbl. base with the same size air filter, then cut the base just outside the filter then file the edge smooth and that makes a 2-bbl. unsilenced air cleaner. That's what I did for my slant 6.
