    I hate to say it but why not just use the rest of the 318 engine or get a magnum 5.2. I too had a 273 for in my 1st Mopar, but sometimes it's time to move on, you won't regret it.

    They have 2 heights on the OEM 4-barrel type base the RD 440 is shorter due to the taller deck height, that could give you some more space to clear the hood.

    How old is the fuel line at the tank? Have you tried filling the bowl in the carb? Engine bay looks nice.

    When I buy a driver, I always go through the complete brake system, cooling system, fuel system Fix all leaks (Hate fluid leaks after destroying mom's driveway when younger) then tune as needed, if any cash left over do what you want.

    Since you're pushing the air in, do a mild build 318 and get the combo to work then fix all the errors, then build with a larger engine combo, you will probably save money in the long run.

    You will need the crank to match the rods for balance, the last few 5.9 I disassembled the piston was down aprox .050 from the deck. la 360 I think is .020 taller deck.

    That cam want's minimum 9 to 1 your closer to 8 to 1, your choice more converter or smaller cam. you said base timing at 20 you didn't say anything about centrifugal specs?

    Just my opinion, if you don't want headers, it's not worth the extra 60 cubes to choke through exhaust manifolds. I would build the 340 to do what you want.

    The Hated EGR Valve Discussion......

    E.G.R. valve will help cool combustion gasses. When using fuel injection, your a/f ratio is as lean as possible for fuel economy (from factory), this will help eliminate pre ignition (ping) at cruise speed and at tip in accel. Many other factors due to technology and year of design.
