The cast crank will handle 600hp. As stated is best to change the crank when doing a complete build and rebalanced. Six pack rods were used in 440 truck motors thru 78. I toss those heavy *** rods into the scrap pile.

Yep. I have a 76 cast crank 440 that I built using a 69 forged crank. Make sure you use the correct balancer and flywheel/converter.

G is 1971 model year. Assembled 6-10-71 E states cast crank so in this case it is a 383 2-bbl w/ auto tranny for 71

F is 1970 model year. Assembled 10-2 of 69 for the 70 model year. I've seen 440 blocks cast in 69 used all the way up for 72 model year. They must have casted a lot of 440 blocks in 69.

Yes when the block was cast. Not the model year or assembly date. That casting date would be for a 77 model year

RV 440's are usually a good score. Usually have fairly low highway miles. Some have the 452 RV heads that has steam ports. Good durable head. I've had several. The 413 usually had the industrial heads. Some 440's had them but most had the normal heads.

Maybe but the 440 didn't go cast til mid 73. The 340 did in mid 72. 72-74 400 4-spd had a forged crank.

I thought the change was for 71 and up but it could be 72 but yes, you have the just of it. Never could understand why they indexed the pulley.

Here is my 72 which is typical of 70-72. My w/p pulley is 6-3/8" diameter and crank pulley is 7-1/4"

Might have a SB crank pulley. Most SB w/p pulleys won't fit on the BB w/p.

You wouldn't be the first to. Many have including myself.

It's hard for me to tell in the pic. Eyes aren't what they used to be. There is a setup where the p/w pulley sits behind the outer groove of the crank pulley like that but should line up.

That is a 1970 and earlier thing. Pulley on goes on one way.

What is incorrect? The w/p pulley is lined up with the rear groove on the crank pulley. The outer groove is for P/S pump.

Normal with that pulley setup. Have the same on my 440 now and on several other cars in the past.

B bodies got them in 72. A's in I think 74. Maybe 75. I added them to my 72. Going for the handling thing. My 72 Satellite came with them. The engineers must have thought they did something or the bean counters would not have approve them.

Sounds like the one from Summit should be for a 6qt. pan.

Ok so you do know him. He has bought quite abit of stuff from me over the years including having me airfreight him two 440 motors.

Have you tried Oliver Zinn, The Mopar Shop, in Germany? He might have a block and other parts.

Same as any other 73-78 B-body. Same as the ones I've shown.

Pretty sure they won't. Not on an A body frame. 73-up B body have different BB and SB K-frames. Would think that A body would need different ones too. Make Your Own DC-K Frame

I have a few sets of 73-up B body BB brackets. They won't fit a 73-up A body V8 K-frame without relocating the towers on the frame.
