    Help identify master cylinder

    Help identify master cylinder

It looks identical to the master cylinder I've got on my '66, which came from a Dakota. Same bore size too. What are the fitting sizes? I've learned that those can vary from application to application.

    Parking Brake Cable Routing

That's probably the problem. I'm sure different applications had different lengths. Or at least, I would think they do. I'd bet there's even some length variation in the reproductions available.

    Parking Brake Cable Routing

Are those the stock cables? There's got to be a reason why the passenger side cable is so much longer thank it should be, right? Or maybe the Driver's side cable is too short for some reason? Are they a matching set?

Where can I find this pedal assembly part?

^^ This right here. Why buy plastic when you can buy these nice bronze pieces. Plus Chris is a great guy. You won't be disappointed. Hopefully he's still making them.

Members with 4 wheel disc systems: Can you lock your wheels?

Probably a stupid question, but is it even realistic to expect to be able to lock up all four tires on a car that heavy with wide modern tires on it?

Members with 4 wheel disc systems: Can you lock your wheels?

Have you thought about an adjustable proportioning valve? Not that it matters if you're unable to lock up either side, front/back, but just spit-ballin.

Members with 4 wheel disc systems: Can you lock your wheels?

Did you bother to read post #10? Though the 11.7" rear rotor seems large, it's only got a 1.5" piston - compared to a 13" rotor up front with dual 1.58" pistons. I would think the front brakes in that configuration EASILY out-power the rears by a factor of two. The rear rotor size is NOT the issue.

Heads up to those that install a 2 bolt aluminum master cylinder.

How vital is it that the fluid comes out of each port simultaneously? Or is one supposed to be applied first? It seems like it's all over the map, which suggests it may not be as important as one would think.

    Emergency brake delete

The OP's simple question was answered within the first handful of responses. Not sure why folks have continually felt the need to lecture a grown man on what they feel is unsafe.

So, the front port is for the rear brakes, and vice versa afterall?? Dammit I need answers too now. haha!

Does anyone have a late model Dodge with one of these 2-bolt masters? I'd be curious if they could confirm this.

Well, ****. I'll have to redo the brake lines on my project car. I assumed the two bolt masters had the same configuration as the old ones. Great catch and thanks for the heads up!

caliper to spindle mounting bolts(Kelsey Hayes)

Could you make a spacer to take up the slack? Seems like that would be easier, quicker (cheaper), and just as strong as the proper shoulder bolt.

    Rear Brake Assemblies

Have you thought about picking up some backing plates and parking brake levers at a wrecking yard and piecing them together yourself? I believe everything else is available new once you have those pieces. I would think you could build a set for half of what those ebay assemblies are listed for.

    Dr. Diffs shipping cost.

Did you enter the COMPLETE address. As in, city, state, and zip? If you leave info off, it defaults to the most expensive - probably due to some funky software algorithm or something out of his control. I just went on to purchase those same items and it was 12 bucks and change for shipping. If I...

Yeah, that's crazy! In that instance, I'd simply give him a call and see if you could order it over the phone. It's likely just a function of a quirky algorithm that calculates shipping costs, so I'd be reluctant to place blame on Cass.

I believe it is a heim joint: Offset master cylinder adaptor I think it's just hard to tell from the photo. Adjustable brake pushrod..what did I do wrong

I think it's just a difference in the photos. Those are both dr diff push rods. In the stock photo on dr diffs site, the rod is rotated showing more of the heim ball, making it appear wider than it is. Of course, once the OP measures the width, that'll clear it up. You are right about early A's...

Adjustable brake pushrod..what did I do wrong

Plenty of people use Dr Diff's adjustable master push rod. I doubt that's the problem. Do you have the stock shoulder bolt? If so, compare the shoulder length with the width of that heim joint. I bet they're pretty close. I'd maybe try lengthening the push rod so the angle isn't as drastic (w/...

With fuel prices where they're at, are you guys really that surprised at shipping costs? Just be happy you have that option available. If you were so inclined, you could always hop in a car or plane and transport those packages/envelopes yourselves.
