    Demon "Classic Air" AC Install

I might could squeeze the A/C behind the fuse panel and not have to relocate. Don't know for sure however.

    Demon "Classic Air" AC Install

No I never did. I invested money in the engine guess you can say. It would be nice however to have A/C. Looking at the instructions .... to me it gets really involved. I'd rather work on the engine... lol EDIT: I remember now... I have a aftermarket EZ-Wire fuse panel in my dash. I would not be...

Radiator hoses for 5.9 with LA timing cover and water pump?

Go to advance or oreilys and ask them can you step in back to find the hoses you need. That's what I did... they didn't mind. You of course need the diameters of the water necks and make sure the bottom hose has a spring in it. Going what you have in the pictures you can start off with hoses...

    no more over heating !!!!!!!!!

Not trying to be a @ss but it needs a few more welds. Weld at the mounting bracket fold around and down the curvature of the brackets to the round piece.

    MRL 360 Coolant Temp 210+

They do.... I'm guessing newer vehicles do this for emission control... or something.

    MRL 360 Coolant Temp 210+

I have a 03 Dodge Ram with a 408 with 180º thermostat. I have gauges installed in the truck that tell me the exact temp rather than cold and hot like the stock gauge. My gauge sits right on 210º or slightly under all the time in stop and go traffic. Now when I had the old engine.. 5.9.. it...

    AC or not?

Ever thought about finding a 4bbl 360 LA or even maybe 360 magnum for street/strip needs with it's longer stroke? I'm not talking about dropping tons of money... just might find one in your area pretty cheap. Just switch it out "poof" more torque and horses.

    340 Six Pack In Fla

Is your engine getting hot just idling... stop and go traffic or getting that hot going down the interstate(air flowing in)? With stock type rad my 30 over 360 temp would steadily climb going down the interstate. It would get around 215 and I would pull off the interstate and let the engine...

    Short Shaft Fan Clutch

Well Summit gave me full refund on the fan even though I had mounted and used it. Thanks Summit! I told them they need to add the rotation to their description of the fan so the confusion will be eliminated. He took down every thing I explained so they will add the info to the description of...

    Short Shaft Fan Clutch

Well guys and gals I ordered a 17117 fan from Summit. If I'm not happy with it I will return it and find a different fan since mopowers didn't like it. I do have a large electric fan in front of the radiator in which cuts on and off at will. The electric fan moves a large amount of air. Thought...

    Short Shaft Fan Clutch

I put my hand between the fan and engine and I can feel air blowing on the engine but can't honestly tell you that it is blowing enough. I guess I will put my old fan back on and see if there is a difference in air movement. This fan is for all V8 engines in Dakotas and Durangos 5.7 , 4.7 ...

    Short Shaft Fan Clutch

Does this fan look like the blades are turned right? This FAN fits most Dakotas with a 5.9 engine. The fan has "front" stamped on it and that is faced towards the front of the car. I just installed the 2947 clutch/fan and the temperatures have sky rocketed! What I did have was a constant...

    Short Shaft Fan Clutch

I purchased the 2947 fan clutch and it is about 1/2" from the Griffin radiator. It's close but I think it should be alright. I will find out I guess. Still waiting on the fan. It should be here today. FAN I went with this fan since it is like the vicious fan Mopar offers. I "think" it moves...

    Short Shaft Fan Clutch

Very interested in the 2947 clutch plus the 5 blade fan. After installing my 400+ HP 360 (just guessing) I had cooling issues. Installed a Griffin aluminum rad and the issues vanished. After putting the cuda on the back burner for sometime now I've started back tinkering with it again. Never got...

    Radiator Swap - Pics!

Sweet! That's going to make your engine much happier. I put a "big ***" Griffin aluminum radiator in my cuda and it's amazing the difference it made. The car can sit idling in hot weather and stay at 195º with no problems. The rad dropped the under hood temps so dramatically that it was actually...

Magnum in 70 Dart, can't keep it cool.

Great point. That's the problem I was having going down the interstate and larger core Griffin rad solved that.

Magnum in 70 Dart, can't keep it cool.

A electric fan with shroud should help as mentioned. A step further would be a mechanical fan with clutch and shroud. My Dodge ram has a 5.9 and it has a mechanical fan with shroud w/195 degree thermo. I had over heating problems in my cuda so I upgraded to a Griffin rad and a mechanical fan...

Interesting update on "crappy" repro fan shrouds

I bought a repro fan shroud and had a bad experience with it drooping. I lucked up and a fellow member had a "real" mopar fan shroud for sale. I have both shrouds here and comparing the hardness of the plastic is like night and day. Far as I'm concerned the supplier owes me money for this thin...

Water pump blocked by AC compressor

I assume the expense would be according what it wrong with it. Keep it on there until you find out a price.

Water pump blocked by AC compressor

Does the a/c work? If not now would be a good time to remove it. It will not be in your any longer and you will shave some weight. You will have to buy different belts but that's not a biggie.

    Demon "Classic Air" AC Install

Well that's not good for me. The glove box is where I installed the aftermarket fuse panel. I mean I would have to move the fuse panel closer to the front of the glove box. The fuse panel however is already wired and ready for a A/C so I guess that's a good thing. Oh well.

    Demon "Classic Air" AC Install

Yeah I see what you're saying. I can't remember how it got brought up but these two guys I was having a conversation with mentioned the glass had to be tinted in order for the AC to work properly. I didn't say anything but it left me like "What?". However my fields cuda that I mentioned about...

    Demon "Classic Air" AC Install

Went and checked their website for my car. Sure enough http://www.classicautoair.com/?q=67_69_Barracuda_Air_Conditioning_Mopar_AC.html I was wondering if cars without tinted glass would need tinting for the system to work correctly? I have been told that the glass would need tinting or the AC...

    Demon "Classic Air" AC Install

I need A/C in my car. This heat is brutal and it's not going to cool off. Friend of mine has A/C in is 72 Cuda. He pulls up at the car shows with the windows rolled up with the AC on. I give him the bird...... he knows why he laughs. I burn up every time I take my car somewhere during the...

Does anyone think it is the radiator besides me?

My 67 cuda with built 360 would overheat going down the interstate to the point it would start vapor lock. I bought a larger core radiator alum from Griffin and it solved the problem. Then I installed a shroud in which that brought the temps down even further.

    Running Hot

Huh no pressure! I looked right over that. Did you install a "fail safe thermostat"? I put one in and it stayed open on me! Just throwing something out there. Not sure if pressure would build with it stuck open. The way I noticed mine is I didn't have any heat and the temp gauge was low. (Dodge Ram)

    Running Hot

Actually it's all of the above wouldn't say? I didn't want to get all technical. I've read what I stated online somewhere. I mean you really would have to be an idiot not to think the air isn't coming through the radiator core and blowing on the engine. lol

    Running Hot

I was one of those who thought a shroud wasn't a big deal. I have since changed my mind on that. It directs the air directly on the engine instead of spreading all over in the engine bay. A shroud works going down the road as well as sitting in the driveway! I would recommend an external...
