I edited my post... I meant clutch fork hole.

    Clutch adjustment for lakeland belhousing

Adjust so the throwout bearing is not in constant contact with pressure plate. You don't want the throwout bearing spinning with the pressure plate. I looked in the clutch fork hole on my lakewood with a flash light and actually could see the distance between the two. Guess I would say it's...

    Pick a clutch.....any clutch

If it was me I'd call Brewer's Performance - Mopar A833 4-Speed Transmission and Component Specialists and talk to them about the intended use and HP/TQ. I was going to go with Centerforce but they suggested Mcleod and I couldn't have been any happier.

    Stalling

You have to almost stay under the hood to keep these things going...lol If your timing is where it should be it sounds like the engine is running lean. I know that at one point my car would want to die when I let the clutch out. I backed the idle mixture screws about a half a turn and it...

Whats a good clutch, have preasure plate, 400HP 360.

I think it's OK to rehash a old thread. I see old threads that I would like to comment on but realize that they are old so I don't. What's the harm in it anyway? :D Heck we're talking about cars, parts, etc... our hobby isn't it? I don't know if Autozone sells diaphragm type pressure plates but...

Whats a good clutch, have preasure plate, 400HP 360.

This what I run Mcleod It's not rough on the leg and grabs really well. Brewers should have anything your looking for. Give them a call.

    brewersperformance?

I have dealt and talked to them on two different occasions. Both went really smooth. Bought a entire Hurst Comp shifter from them recently. Installed with no problems. I highly recommend Brewers. Tell you the truth there is not really a lot or any place that just deals with Mopar manual...

best way to remove the under dash assist spring???

I did it using washers with the assembly still in the car. I still had to use a little force to get it out. If I had not used the washers I doubt I would have gotten out in one piece.

what pressure plates are you using?

I forgot to mention that is where I got my 4 speed parts from. I talked to a guy named Wayne. He seems very knowledgeable.

what pressure plates are you using?

Oh sorry about that. I thought the second post was someone else. I tell you what I would do. I would call Brewers and tell the HP, slick size, weight, gears, etc.... and let them choose one for you. You just can't go wrong with Brewers ...trust me. If your car is going to be drag raced then you...

what pressure plates are you using?

This is the one I have been using for street use. I love it compared to the stock B&W. http://www.brewersperformance.com/proddetail.asp?prod=MCD1023

Z-Bar and Clutch Rod Linkage won't line up. Help!?!?!

That is for the spring mentioned. My fork is the one with the notch not the holes(shown above) that is installed on a 360.

Which shifter mechanism do I need????

I have a Hurst shifter mechanism and the pistol grip bolted up without problems. As long as the mechanism has the two bolt holes I dont see a problem. I dont know what year my mechanism falls in but more than likely its the same year you have mentioned.
  17. mullinax95

    What causes this?

I installed a McLeod diaphragm pressure plate and clutch disk. I will never go back to the B&B.
  18. mullinax95

    What causes this?

Man that is a good question. Something might have gotten in and made its way in between the throw out just one time. I don't know. I believe your pressure plate is not hurt and be safe to reuse.

What is the correct direction for the reverse rod?

I wished I could help you out. I guess that's why mine is hard to find 1st gear or reverse. I believe I need a 4 speed front to back top to bottom inspection on my trans. Someone with a lift and knows WTF they are doing. I will let a mechanic I trust look at it on his lift, give him the keys and...

Whats a good clutch, have preasure plate, 400HP 360.

Give http://www.brewersperformance.com/ a call with your info. They can tell you at least what clutch will hold up to that horsepower. Talk to Wayne if you can.

    clutch adjustment problem

I'll be watching this thread. I have the awfullest time finding first gear. Reverse is not easy either. I'm to the point (no time, no lift) to let a mechanic have at it.

    Problems will not go away....

Wayne is a great guy. I bought some parts from him at Brewer and didn't feel like I was in the cross hairs.

Anyone running a hydraulic clutch with their 833?

Gosh daliant! I don't see a problem with that at all! Looks like it would be cheaper and less pain in the *** to install also.

    Problems will not go away....

I bought a new Mcleod clutch and pressure plate from Brewer's Performance. I wasn't very up on manual transmissions at the time. Wayne sold me everything I needed and explained in great detail why he sending me the parts. I was off in left field... fixing to buy a pressure plate that was really...

Making a 11" flywheel work on an A body...

I would go here and talk to these guys. Im running a 10.95 McLeod in mine. I got it from Brewers. Call them... http://www.brewersperformance.com/

Anyone running a hydraulic clutch with their 833?

I really was thinking about it but figured I was biting off more that I could chew at the moment. I like the fact that you don't have to adjust the hydro clutch and also the foot pressure is a little less demanding. They are sweet to have.... go for it.

    HP limit for OD 833?

Speed X Gear X 336 divided by TIRE SIZE = RPM
  29. mullinax95

    HP limit for OD 833?

Your RPM would be 3440 that's a shade tight but you might not spend a lot of time on the HWY.
