Painting a work trucks bed that has had greasy car parts and oil back there. What's the best degreaser and how do you apply it? Surface needs to be as clean as possible for the epoxy coating. I mopped some yellow "Awesome" degreaser back there already and pressure washed it already.

As it's a 2 part epoxy, do I mix a second batch for topcoat? Or does it stay workable (says 6 hour pot life) ?

I think I'm gonna try it. Maybe a small 1oz mixed batch to see how it lays on and how it adheres. I know POR-15 tends to peel if its not on a super clean surface. The exterior of the truck is oil free but the bed and engine bay is gonna need some help stripping of old grease tracks.

I'm 100% against clear coat at the moment. I'll look at manufacturer website about tinting the base. Do you think it will adhere to metal (primed or bare) and light rust? Ala POR-15?

Cheaper than paint and it won't clearcoat check.....try to do the trunk first by yourself. Its very forgiving on a flat surface. Just lay it on and smooth bubbles out with a bondo paddle or other smooth plastic paddle that won't scratch the film. It's flexible so it won't bunch up or bridge over...

The chrome sprays are 2 part. You spray a reflective base and then spray the top iirc, like a clear coat that gives it the bluing look. I don't think it's very durable especially under UV.

My peave #2. Visible sheet metal behind the grill. Not everyone dislikes it but it's up there with the 65 hood stripe continuing under the hood latch. It just ain't right. Now I don't mind a black or silver center grill on a 64-65 Valiant/Barracuda and that's not correct either. To each his own.
